Today while thinking of a new topic I thought why not to share the effects of vaping based on individual's own experience. I will be very honest with all of the fellow vapours and here is my experience:

I tried my first ego style e-cig and got 18mg e-liquid from a petrol station. It was a bad experience lots of cough n sore throat. I thought what a waste of £20. Then I watched some videos and started to know more on vaping. Looked at what e-liquids contains, what is PG and VG and what 1.8% written on the eliquid pack means. I was so confused between 510 and ego. But anyhow I ordered a new tank kanger pro tank 3 mini. Ordered 50/50 pg/vg good quality e-liquids one at 12mg the other at 6mg and then tried it again using the same ego battery. Threw away my original top wicking tank and within a week I realised that my cig craving had reduced. I was not coughing frequently specially in the morning and my sense of smell had improved. That feeling did't come straight away and without me being persistent in my aim to quit smoking or to reduce my regular cigs. When I started vaping I had mouth dryness, sore throat, mouth ulsars, and a great appetite. I coped well during that phase. I kept myself well hydrated and tried to eat fruits such as apples to help me go through the withdrawal phase of regular cigs.
Gradually I started to feel much better as I could do light exercise, play with my kids without loosing my breadth. It worked well for me.
Then I read some bad news on vaping the diacetyl stuff and started to doubt whether these effects are healthy or am I going into another trouble. I started to doubt on what I was feeling. I discussed it with my other half whether am I doing the right thing and the obvious answer was if you are feeling much better than before it must be good.
Since then I am very much into vaping and really enjoy it. I do sub-ohming but my body always tells me when enough is enough and that's the key. Excess of everything is bad and as long as one is not going to the extremes in my opinion its a much better alternative to smoking. Another one is to buy e-liquids from a well reputed manufacturer and listen to your body. If something isn't right you will get an idea. Ask questions you may have from others who do vape. In my experience nothing is prefect, if you are into smoking and assuming vaping as 100% safe then the best is to quit altogether.

I don't know what the future research will bring on the side effects of vaping but so far it has worked for me.

Above is just my own experience and no way should be taken as an encouragement to start vaping.

Please share you experience good or bad as you like. Thanks

Hi. I can share my observations of vaping over the past 16 months.

I've noticed no ill effects to my health at all from vaping. I, like you, went through a very similar journey. Started with the cigalike from Tesco, switched to Ego style kit, then got into all the subohm stuff.

Spend a few weeks switching between vaping and fags, until it was just the vaping. Felt pretty rough during that time. However, it passed and I was no longer reaching (or even thinking about having) a cancer stick.

I started out on 18mg or 24mg 80pg stuff. It got me through (and cruically off a 20 year tobacco habit), but I did notice a little pg intolerance (this was especially evident when I stuck it in a subtank lol ). It used to irritate my throat (high nicotine didn't really help my throat much either).

Once I'd starting vaping with a decent subohm setup and switched to low nicotine and high vg, it's just getting better and better.

I do get a bit of a sore throat sometimes but it passes pretty quickly (I usually switch to a soothing fruit or menthol vape at these times which I've found works).

In terms of the wire, I've always got on and had no problems with Kanthal. I tried nichrome once and found it really didn't agree with me. Given this, I'm loath to try titanium, nickel or ss coils.

In summary, I vape a lot and absolutely love it with a passion. I can honestly say that I've suffered no serious adverse effects from vaping (unless you were to look at what I've spent on it but that's another story). Frankly, I hope I'll still be vaping on my death bed!

I had a medical health screening thing at work today and was pleasantly surprised to hear my lung function is up, by a whopping 25%, thats since I stopped smoking and started vaping. The nurse asked me if I had changed anything and I explained my stopping smoking and now vaping. She said that is more than likely why my lungs are now more efficient and to continue if that's what was keeping me off the fags. Talking to her, a Bupa nurse, I found out she is very pro vaping and wished all smokers would make the switch, happy days!

The health screening we get in work ran a carbon monoxide test, after 2 days of vaping I was down to non smoker level. 8 weeks on, I feel 10x better. When I first tried vaping back in 2010 I had a high pg and high nic juice and soon had a horrendous throat and tonsillitis. Back to smoking I went. This time I'm on 0mg or 3mg in my subohm or RDA's. No issues whatsoever

Sounds similar to my experience.

I only quit chain smoking roll ups about 4 weeks ago, but I feel healthier already, though I do need to lose a bit of weight still, but I rarely get the urge to light up now.

After a bit (lot) of research I've already discovered the joys of sub ohming, and the sore throat is gradually diminishing as I experiment with nicotine and power levels.

I've promised the Mrs I won't buy any more hardware (for now), and only concentrate on getting the juices that are right for me, but when my new coils arrive I can continue the experiments to maximise the power to taste ratio as well. I already know that high PG levels don't suit though, and I am paying close attention to the potential dangers involved with higher powered kit.

There's a lot to pique my interest with vaping, and I just hope the higher powers don't over legislate it.

I keep being called a cheat at work, because I'm still getting my nicotine fix, but I know I'd be truely unbearable going cold turkey (think Tasmanian Devil), plus I actually enjoy vaping, though the massive clouds can be embarrassing.

I'm sold on it, oh and did I mention that I'm an ex smoker? :)

I've never understood the "cheat" comments. It implies there's some sort of competition going on or something.....
