Ekowool is burning in my mini DID clone

I'm brand new to RBAs and jumped in with both feet when I got the tiny mini DID clone (with back to front air hole i.e. on the opposite side to the coil) and using ekowool as a wick.

I managed to thread the ekowool through, made a 1.5 ohm coil, put in some juice and vaped. It was very burnt, so I took the cap off and had a look. It was definitely burning the wool. I waiting until the wick really soaked up some liquid and tried again - same thing. Coil isn't too tight or anything.

Should I be using ekowool in this way? any other reason for burning?

forgive my ignorance, I'm not sure how to make use of that link? Is that for the device or the wick?
