Hope someone can help me here.

Ive not been vaping long, started with a couple of CE4's and never had an issue, if I was using the same juice I would just top up, didn't clean (although id only been using them a week or so really). I then decided to move to an EVOD. Initially I really liked it! much better all round really. however after I filled up the tank a couple of times its started to taste burnt. I initially thought it just needed a clean, but it seems that even once cleaned and dry burnt this burnt taste remains. Maybe not initially, but after running ~2ml through it, it returns.

Ive got 2 evods now, and the same thing is happening with both. I try to keep them upright but cant always, Is it possible its just something as simple as starving the wick??

Or is there another possible reason for it?

Thanks

It's handy to have a few spare kanger heads on hand, then you can swap them out while you wash the others. I soaked mine in really hot water a couple of times. If yours are ok for a couple of ml, the coil must be gunking up a bit & needing another clean.

Sounds like you are getting dry hits due to it not wicking properly.

I have seen loads of threads saying to take out one or both of the flavour wicks, basically two little bits of silica that sit on top of the coil.

Take off the top post in the coil head and carefully remove one then try it

Just seems funny it's ok for a couple of ml that suggests a clean fixes it. I had wicking probs with the pt2, but that was the case with fresh heads too

Yeah it sounds like the coil is getting gunked up, it all depends on what juices you are using as well, some flavours can cause the coils to get pretty cruddy!

Maybe worth removing one of the flavor wicks from it, but i am also new and this has worked for a couple of mine :)

Im sure there's only one flavour wick in the heads I have. I'll double check. Will removing completely not flood the thing? seems like theres plenty of room for the juice to migrate into the centre hole if they are removed??

Best not remove them all, i think even with 100% vg it will flood it, so best have 1-2 strands of the wick i worked out.

Removing the "flavour" wick will not cause it to flood, in fact I'm running one of my Evods with the Silicon grommet/cover removed as it was not wicking so well. The worst you will get is a "gurgle".

The best way I have found to clean the heads is remove the post (just pull it off) run under the tap, dry off with a tissue then dry burn the head until all the crap has burned off.....I've found I can do this 3 or 4 times until I have to recoil the head.

BTW ..... dry burning means getting it bloody hot, so it glows.
