Best not to rely on them imo. I wear one where required but still maintain social distancing and sanitize my hands.

Not sure whats different about the article.
I read it that surgeons wear a mask when in very close proximity to their patients to reduce the amount of their own body fluids and breath particles from coming into contact with the patient.
This is the same with jo public and covid which is the intention of mask wearing as far as I'm aware.

That's been known all along. What's so confusing ? Masks/face coverings do very little except perhaps reduce the contamination distance of a sneeze or cough.
It is generally believed that the covid-19 virus molecule is less than 0.14 microns in diameter and would easily pass through a simple mask or face covering.
That's 0.00014 mm in diameter ( I pretty sure that's right).

You see poor discipline everywhere. Touching masks, removing them before sterilising hands, putting masks in pockets and then re-using them. The list goes on.

Not sure I'd wear one of these "copper impregnated " masks either. Wouldn't there be a chance you could inhale copper particles !

a quick google reveals that doctor is an anti vax truth seeker. i would probably ignore him.
