Fake Charger

Joined POV because of this, I've bought batteries from FS, 18650.co.uk and NDB before and not had an issue with any of my purchases, but this shit is mental! How the hell can that guy sleep at night knowing fellow Vapers are at risk because of his own greed, we all know Safety is #1 when it comes to vaping but it seems like all he cares about is £££.

Let's hope the community stands it's ground, just like we should with iJoy and the new 20700's

And I just shared it on UK Vape Trades 19,997 members.

Welcome to the forum ... :)

So the fucker was selling this knock off shite as far back as then.
Do not use anything with these unfused plugs on. Some years ago I bought a Chinese made hard drive caddy had exactly same plug on, ended up with blue sparking and melted plastic cable. Fortunately I was in the room at the time so managed to switch off the mains and get it outside.

Would changing the lead with one with a proper plug resolve most of the safety issues? Sorry if I sound daft, I am no electrician...

I wouldn't risk it. You have no idea what else they have skimped on internally. Best and safest option is the bin.

The components in the fake chargers are often lower quality too. The production standards won't be up to the standards of Nitecore, I just wouldn't be able to trust them and certainly would not recommend changing the lead and plug, they are just an accident waiting to happen.

it would solve the obvious one ....... but as the chargers don't appear to be genuine, who knows what quality of parts are used inside?

Not worth the risk, at all.

If you can post photo's that will be most helpful as it's further proof of a pattern of behaviour - @junglist could you let this user know what evidence he needs to supply other than photo's to stick to our rules...

Let me know and I'll see what I can do (the camera in my phone is pretty messed up, but can use a proper digital one). I don't like public shaming, but I do believe that fakes, especially if dangerous, should be recalled.

Guess I'll have to keep monitoring it while I charge my 18650's until I can get a replacement...
