Fastech Closing down

So it would seem the new tax in China doesn't affect exports as they are happy for vaping kit to be sold overseas but are fleecing domestic buyers and making it more expensive to switch to vaping. Apparently around 300m smoke in China which is the largest producer and consumer of tobacco in the world.

Now, of all times, should be when we support the U.K. vaping outlets. In my view anyway.
There’s not been much difference, in price, for some time now, anyway.
especially with the £ to $ exchange rate its shocking at the moment so makes sense to buy from UK, suspect it would work out around the same price at the moment anyway once you've added shipping onto the China orders too

i agree with you there now a days its more expensive too buy most stuff from china.

Shit I'm sad about that.

I'm a bit fond of fasttech despite their flaws.

Surely this tax is going to a have a massive effect price wise on virtually every bit of vape related hardware we buy.

if i understand it right, it only applies to stuff purchased in china. so exported stuff doesn’t apply. that’s why the others can send stuff to a bonded warehouse, to be exported to a warehouse outside china then posted on from there. i could have that wrong, but think it how it’s working.

Guess that's why some ch sites have places in Europe now mainly Germany from some sites I've seen. guess it makes it easier but abit more expensive for some stuff and shipping prices go up aswell

hope this is the case - its getting harder and harder to get stuff in Ireland nowadays. Getting stuff from the UK is hugely expensive and you get hit with a customs charge when the Irish postie gets his hands on it

that sucks. would it be cheaper for you to order from france or other places in europe?

I have but you have to go courier which is expensive because your getting it from France, Italy etc. through the UK and then onto the ferry. A lot of Italian shops won't even ship to Ireland anymore. I like to buy decent high-endist gear when I can and support independent mod & atty makers - decent RDAs, decent boro stuff etc - I got the pilot RBA direct from Ambition mods for example but if I can't get something through a facebook list (and we all know what a lottery they are) my only realistic option is the UK online ships. I was looking at a boro mod that I've wanted for a while that had has been reduced in price to 65 GBP. I've got stuff from this retailer before and I know their customer service is excellent but by the time I would have got the mod in my hand it would have cost well in excess of 100 euros. more & more I'm looking at the clone China websites and thinking why not go down that road because I simply can't afford it anymore. it really, really sucks and (along with the Irish government - thats another tragic story the muppets) its killed the Irish hobbyist vaping scene nearly stone dead. everything over here is plastic pods & disposables.
