Right guys my kraken from FT arrived in the post this morning, I've read somewhere I need to get rid of machine oil and I also noticed in some of the screw holes and wick holes there's some excess metal, how do I get rid of this?

Wash it :)

No seriously, you should never vape from gear that you haven' washed first.

Warm soapy water and maybe a dip in some disinfectant too :)

And the excess metal? And alrite guys when I get a good job I'll steer clear of the clones but for now, its all I have...

a pin? and there's nowt wrong with clones bud, its all about supply and demand IMO ;)

what do you mean by excess metal? thats where I am stuck.
if its just little flakes, small shavings then surely a toothbrush and water will be quicker than asking on a forum
if it is left over from the machining process and still stuck to the threads and so on, then you'll have to find another way, maybe a small screwdriver to scratch/break off the bits?

if you are talking about the lug plugging one of the holes, well you'll need an allen key for that, not a toothbrush

Cheers Vern and I had a quick look as had to go straight back to work so asked in the case it was a bigger bit of metal than I could see

The little burrs on the drill holes can be removed with a screwdriver tip, machine oil - well buckle yourself in for a cleaning fest to be honest as they are shit full of oil, centre post seems to have a load that you won't get rid of fully without either boiling a couple of times or removing the post (quite tricky) and boiling.

mine didnt...
not one bit of oil in the centre, not a bad alignment either, and not a short.
the first bunch did, but it would appear resolved to my eyes...I did remove the centre post to check, and found it easier than tying shoelaces. Tap it out from the top. You dont need to be a master machinist..its easy

:p
