What's new

First batch knocked up!

pittard9 although both sweeten the juice is not necessarily in exactly the same way...

Riiggghhhttt...apologies if this sounds dumb, I've not been mixing long, but in what way are they different and what does each achieve.

Thanks

pittard9 can't tell you exactly as mix with other pre sweetened juices... but try a can of coke and a can of diet coke... they taste different. .. one has sugar the other has a different sweetener. .. the general purpose is the same... but the effects are a bit different. .. not everyone can tell. .. but most people will prefer one or t'other

That makes sense actually. Like diet coke is disgusting compared to original. The sweetener leaves a nasty aftertaste.

Does the sweetener and the ethyl maltol in this not have the same effect?

hi pittard9
i think ethyl maltol is more of a candy floss effect/texture rather than a sweetener. although it does sweeten.
i use em more to take harshness off of juices but use sweetener to sweeten.
hope this makes sense.

to be honest i dont know why i mixed this lol. ive had two or three mothers milks and although nice they weren't exciteable. but im searching for a realy nice creamy fruit mix (if anyone has one wink wink) and mothers milk is as near as im getting.
i like the smurf clones but still not doing it for me as i struggle to taste blueberry these days.

Creamy fruits are easy, choice of fruits you like and add either bavarian, whipped,Irish, sweet cream (or a mix of creams )
I tend to find any extra concentrates like ethyl maltol increase the steeping times or certain flavours like creams markedly. As taste is so subjective, it is hard to say what you should mix. As the concentrates are cheap (compared to nicotine ) I tend to add a couple ml of PG /VG to the mix and then add drops of flavour to this, trying to create a nice vape. The occasional "yuck, that's vile " is expected and I have menthol concentrate to fix any vile juices thus rarely does my sink get a vape. :D

i have one thats been steeping for about 4 weeks now. my recipe is for 30ml
3ml custard
1ml vanilla
2.4ml strawberry sweet
0.6ml dragon fruit
0.3ml orange
0.3ml cream
0.6ml pear
0.3ml sweetener
4x drops em

and base/nic of your choice
smells great may try it tomorrow and see what it tastes like.

been vaping this recipe since 5ish and i have to say its quite good. i would put it up there with the other premade i have had. may need a little tweek with the strawberry maybe to 3ml or just under.

I have found that you need to be careful with EM. It definitely enhances some flavours, fruits particularly, but it can also mask other subtle flavours, like Almond for example.
If you want to sweeten, then use a sweetener. Sucralose and Stevia are popular options.
If you want to round off or smooth out a multi flavour mix then try EM. Don't go overboard with EM as the candyfloss taste can dominate and spoil your mix.

Do you buy your EM as liquid or do you make your own from crystals?
