I've tried vaping zero nic base only and it made me cough like crazy. I was being cheap at the time trying to clean the flavour out of coils I was using to test various flavour concentrates.
When you are new to mixing it is a good idea to test the base so as to know what part of the final flavour is the base.
I have no idea why vaping base should make you cough more than when it has nic and flavour added.
I have pg and vg seperately to see how they taste, no problem.
You clearly do not have what it takes to be really cheap.
If you sit about with a bunch of single flavour mixes and an rda, you can learn a lot by dripping different flavours on the same coil/wick. You can play about with two flavours in different ratios and get an idea of blends that work or you can vape the new flavour long enough that the old flavour recedes, then try a new combination..
You can watch telly, have a drink, relax, vape as much as normal, savour the different flavour combinations, take a few notes on what works and what does not. Another day another wick and a new starting flavour. Perhaps the new starting flavour is a mixture of two or three flavours you discovered last time dripping flavours on top of each other and on it goes gradually evolving a recipe suited to you,
Sorry if I am trying to teach granny to suck eggs.
