Fogger Dry Hits

Guys, what is it that causes the dry hits in the fogger? We have had it a few weeks and once we found a build that worked it was spot on, loads of flavour and plenty of fog, it was that good and following the faffing at the start we were too scared to change coil. Fast forward a few weeks and it was about time for a coil change. So, 3 days ago gave it a go. Thought we had done exactly as the previous build but obviously not as after a while of it working well the onset of dry hits started. The past three days it has had numerous builds done we have tried backing the juice flow off to the point where it was almost fully unscrewed lol but still dry hits. Its very strange cause one minute its working so well and the next its giving dry hits.

About to strip it down once more and we are that desperate we are considering using the mesh that came with it!! One more thing about the build. When you attach the micro coil to the poles it sits quite high, does it need pushing down a bit so that the wicks are horizontal rather than on an angle (hope you get my meaning there)?

Thought we'd plead for help before we started..........again!

Also, what capacity are you guys putting in your foggers? Done a little search on the net and you should see the varying capacities getting thrown round. One guy even says 10ml :lol1:

I did my first fogger build last night, semi micro coil with two strands of 3mm silica fed through the coil, cut the silica off just about the same length as the chimney so a bit poked out the holes - maybe 1mm, maybe a bit less.

Seems to be working fine, not very airy but no dry hits so far - although having said that I do think you need to put it down every few minutes to give it a chance to 're juice' if you keep vaping it does feel as if a dry hit is on the way.

I like the fogger so far, my KFL was starting to piss me off so I've put it to one side for the day to see how I get on with the fogger.

No idea on capacity - I only half filled it in case my build was crap and I needed to take it out.

Good luck!

This video helped me no end. This is how I do it now and it works first time every time.

You may also want to change the way you vape - try drawing on it before you press the button, and keep drawing after releasing the button. That should give it a chance to draw more juice into the chamber.

Cheers robteifi will give that a bash. Just doing Poo's build (again) as per the video clint posted.

I've been having this problem now and I've not been able to find a way around it. Every build I had worked fine for about 3 weeks of ownership, then one day I got a dry hit and I now find that whenever the capacity of the tank drops and starts becoming low the dry hits become more frequent.

I kept trying each build with less and less cotton but it was getting to the point where if I got a dry hit and pulled hard to pull more juice through, it would suck the wick in and completely flood the chamber. So far the only fix I've found is close the air ring off and suck on it tell you see a bubble or two rise up through the juice. But due to the cotton experimentation I've had I think it's something to do with pressure, i find as my juice level falls into view of the window and collects around the outside of the chamber, I think the problem is not enough air to create the pressure needed to push the juice through into the wicks as you take a draw.
