Hi all,

Bought the uwell crown 4 tank and mod around a month ago, and tried my first mesh coil a week ago.

I love the tank, when all is well it’s very smooth and the taste is great. BUT I’m finding I’m getting really frequent dry hits.

Have had 3 mesh coils all from different shops and have had the same problem with each. I’m not chain vaping, and often find I’m getting dry hits immediately on picking it up after leaving it alone for hours. Have it set to 60w.

Wondering if it could be the liquid (nasty juice cushman) but really not sure. Any ideas?

Too high VG maybe? Not letting the juice get too low? Some coils can go almost to the bottom without issues like the Plex coils from Innokin, others like those in the T2 Voopoo are the opposite.

I had exactly the same experience either a dry hit or verging on dry hits at only 60 Watts, went through a whole pack of mesh coils and found that the cotton was actually burnt through after 1 day not even using sweet juice. Ive never used it again, now I just use a Falcon King and a freemax mesh pro, much better tanks.

Now that's a tank and coil combo to avoid!

Sounds like the problems I had with the earlier versions of the Smok Mesh, too small wicking ports that can't keep up.

Workaround is to undo the top cap every 5 or so draws to let air in to aid wicking, give it a go and let me know, worked for my Smok Coils, thankfully they woke up and the new versions have large wicking ports.

How do you prime the coils before you start using them?
