Hi All, I was hooping that someone may be able to give me some advice! I've recently purchased a Geek Vape Zeus tank with the Zeus coils and the problem i'm having is that every time I fill the tank i'm getting little air bubbles right in the place where the coil is exposed, i've uploaded a picture which may explain better!! This I believe is leading to dry hits as I don't think the coil can take on any liquid because of the bubble. I put a new coil in this morning and straight away I was getting a burnt taste and it doesn't really seem to go away. I have prepped the coil before putting it in the tank so don't think that's the issue. If anyone could help me out that would be amazing!!

When the coil vapourises juice from the tank its using some of the liquid volume.
Air has got to enter the tank to replace the liquid loss and the air comes in via the coils.
This is normal.

This doesn't explain dry or burnt hits but installing the bubble glass might help combat that.

Hi Jon and welcome to the planet.
A bit more info needed.
Which coil you using and
Where did you buy them.
What ratio of vg/Pg is the juice and what nic strength.
Are you starting low wattage like 20-25w to let the coil bed in or are you going straight to within coil range. Most coils need to be bedded in so even though starting low the coil is still heating up inside and bedding in.
Best coil is 0.2 and I use at 50watt and lasts 5-7 days.

Lovely thanks for this, I will look into getting the bubble glass to see if that might help

Hi thanks for the reply and your welcome!

I'm using a 0.4 coil
I bought the initial pack at a local vape shop and have yet to use these up. I bought another pack online from Vape Club and have yet to use these ones
Ratio is 70/30 at 0.3mg
I've never considered starting the coil low I have been going straight in at 45-50w which I believe is within the range of the coil?
At the moment i'm luck if I get 1-2 days out of atoll and most of that time i'm getting constant dry hits?

I for one check for bubbles when vaping as a sign that the wicking is working as already said. It's one of the 1st things i was told when i 1st quit.

I never realised that it was a sign of wicking, i've never noticed it on any other tanks that i've used before but that maybe because I haven't encountered a problem with the other tanks i've used!! It's really frustrating as I love the tank so hopefully I can find a solution

And there is the problem.
I found the ,0.4 pants and going straight in at high wattage will burn most coils out.

Soz if typo as in hospital on infusion drip at moment. Will reply when I get home

Thanks for taking the time to reply even from hospital! That's a pain as i've always got on better with coils around the 0.4-0.5 range which is why I bought the tank, maybe i'll try starting off at a lower wattage. How long would you recommend letting it bed in for at a lower range?

Hi @Jon Gotham and welcome to POTV. You've had some good advice. The Zeus is a great tank, one of my favourite standard coil tanks. I echo what Mr Ripple said, get the bubble glass. It's a complaint I have heard before about the standard glass. You won't regret it, and they can be picked up for a few quid. Good luck and enjoy the forum :)
