My mate Colin is still very confident - room is booked and he has had a very positive response from a number of vendors/outlets. He is currently having designed - a poster, invite cards for vendors and raffle tickets. One of his aims is to try and attract people new to Vaping as well as the "old hands", and he hopes to set up a couple of tables displaying and demonstrating different types and levels of kit. A little ambitious maybe, but knowing Colin, if anyone can pull it together then he can.
Me - I am just looking forward to an afternoon of boozy vaping!!
Let's keep spreading the word and hopefully the numbers will grow

Think he has 12-14 plus about 6 from vendors so far, but I'll need to check with him. I'll be seeing him tomorrow, so I will get you an update then.

A quick update on some details for the meeting
Dear Sir or Madam,
My Name is Colin Robertson. I have been vaping for over a year now, and have witnessed an explosion of growth in the industry within that time, I am keen to promote the vaping cause, though I am not running any business myself and do not look to profit from this venture.
Now that more and more people are deciding to vape rather than smoke, we often find ourselves embroiled in conversation about PG/VG ratios, atomizers, coils, clearomizers, wicking, juice, sub ohming , resistance meters etc. etc.
We have all become teachers within our circle of friends. We swap tips about the best liquids, the best atomizers, the best mods and the best rebuildable setups. This exchange of knowledge also goes outside our own friends and family, as now we find more and more people vaping in the street, and asking questions of one another. I don’t ever recall being approached by a stranger, asking me if I preferred Golden Virginia or Amber leaf, or what thickness of cigarette paper I used, but I am often approached by people asking about what tank I am using or what mod I have.
The point is, that we vapours are a social group, who are eager to learn from one another, and to that end, I am proposing to create The Glasgow School of Vape, which I hope to be a regular event for vapers and vape retailers. On the 3rd of May I will be holding a vape meeting from 2pm onwards, in a private room, upstairs in The Vale, opposite Queen Street Station. The Glasgow School of Vape aims to be accessible to all levels of vapers, from those who are just looking for info on how to switch from smoking to vaping, up to those who are building their own coils and producing their own e-liquids. To achieve this, I am looking for the support of retailers and veteran vapers who can attend, and help make the venture a success.
I would like to invite yourself, along with other retailers who are interested, to be represented at the event. I would like to offer a dedicated area at the event where your business can be promoted, and your products showcased to our attendees. Ideally I am looking to accommodate 4 or 5 retailers, and am hoping to get around 40 attendees.
The event will also be an opportunity for vapers to bring and sell and swap juices and tanks and other devices, and there will be an area for vapers to learn about coiling and rebuildables from experienced vapers.
I want to run a biggest cloud competition, with one competition between attendees, and one between retailers (if you wish to submit an entry) I also wish to run a best e-liquid vote, where the retailers can showcase one liquid that they feel represents their best, and also have a raffle, where the prizes represent what your business is all about (like a specific range of flavours, or a gift basket star prize)
That does mean that I am asking retailers to donate prizes and liquids towards the event.
In return I will produce marketing and design for the event and include your company logo as a main sponsor on all marketing. Also at the event there will be the opportunity to speak to new customers and I am looking to compile a mailing list (with attendee consent) that you would have access to, in order to use for marketing purposes.
