Now in the early planning stages for the next one (possibly August). Larger venue, more retailers. Should be good. Keep an eye on the Glasgow School of Vape Facebook page!

C'mon man, play the game....There was almost a hundred people there in a small venue vaping like champs...The reason that people were asked to cut down on the cloud chasing was that we set off the fire alarm twice and the manager of the pub was going to get charged by the fire brigade for false call outs...Both overhead fans were running at full speed and the front door was open for most of the event.....

Again some selfish cloud chasers who were only thinking for themselves potentially spoiling it for everyone else...:(

Moan over........

Sorry for the late reply.

How about first rule of organising a meet! Make sure the venue has heat sensors instead of particle! It is a vape meet after all.

Number two I saw one guy get asked to leave and looked more like a witch hunt from where myself and my girlfriend were sitting. He got picked on constantly despite other people up the back not being asked to tone it down once.

"Moan Over"......

First of all, I didn't organise this meet, but the person who did is just like you and I...A vaper, the event was run as a non profit event.... And secondly, it's hard enough trying to find a venue without checking out whether or not the fire alarm system is "heat sensor" or "Particle", and It's a pub...I'm sure that the staff in the pub wouldn't have a clue what type of fire alarm they had.

And as to your second comment...The guy who was asked to leave/witch hunt ??....I missed that as I was up on the balcony for the entire event, but the main question should be If he was asked to "Tone it down" as the fire alarms kept going off, Why did he not ?? A reasonable request considering..

The VAST majority of the attendees actually did calm it down after the fire alarm went off for the second time, and we were threatened with being asked to leave

There's a whole thread elsewhere on this forum about the very same thing...There's always some who would like to spoil it all for the rest of us...

I'm sure someone in the pub would know what type of fire safety was installed in the pub Health & Safety 101

He did tone it down that's not why he was asked to leave! He started vaping at lower watts but but when confronted by who I imagine was the event organiser he showed him what he was vaping at which was very low.

The young guy that got asked to leave said to the "Organiser if he knew the difference between cloud chasing and vaping....he took offence and asked him to leave.

There was a well publicised Cloud Competition how did that go down?

There were people throwing clouds left right and centre I never saw anyone else get picked out.

Either way rule one...find out what fire alarms they have!

I've stated my case and I'm not getting into a big argument about it...If you're not happy about it that's your problem....I wasn't privy to what was said or not, so cant comment on it.

You're a glasgow boy like me, So you'll understand the "It's ma baw and ma rules" it was the only place that we could get.

If you aren't happy about the way it was organised or run then then either take it up with the organiser, or just don't go to the next one.

I'm certainly not arguing sorry you see it that way.

It has been mentioned to the organiser I didn't know the lad personally and only stating my opinion on what I saw and heard.

As long as we can vape I'll go to the next one.

I have no idea how well it would be received but i know that the Ben Nevis on Argyle street has extractor fans worthy of Concord Engines having formerly been an employee (many years ago). It was fitted out to deal with the impending smoking ban at the time. Just a suggestion only, but better to get hold of the owner, Colin Beattie (if he still is the owner) and ask.
The crusty regular chuntz were hard core smokers and personally i would take great delight in pissing the miserable fckuers off by blowing monster clouds.

I know the ben nevis well, I used to live in gray street just above the snaffle bit and frequented most (if not all) of the pubs around there....The problem is that there was over a hundred (estimate) vapers turned up for the event and the "Ben" is far too small for a future event with the same kind of turnout expected....Plans are in the early stages for a couple of places in the city centre who normally run bands who use smoke machines on stage, so the fire alarms/ventilation should be better...

More news on this once things are confirmed....

And just as an aside....The cloud compition was cancelled due to the fire alarm going off twice during the meet.
