Golden rules? Just about to start mixing

My missus is a toxicologist, so she should come in handy for 'best practise'. Tempted to ask her to half inch a load of lab kit, but not worth it considering low cost of all that stuff.

Also if it ever turns into a business she can be my lab technician ;)

Sterilising?
I just rinse syringes in water and leave to air dry. I don't use lingering flavours like aniseed and menthol, so I just have a glass of water at the desk when mixing, just a quick rinse through of the syringe before using again. Syringes get knackered after a short while and lose their easy motion ... just bin it and get a fresh one.

My golden rule has to be about making notes, copious notes, on what I mix and how it tastes.

My other golden rule which works for me and might not for others, is to make my bases first - 60/40 10mg; 70/30 10mg; 60/40 18mg etc. This minimises the amount of time I have to deal with an open bottle of nic concentrate. It makes the flavour mixing a whole lot easier when you're adding from one base bottle and not 3.

My mixing kit involves syringe to bottle, for testing I mix in an old menthol tub, to clean up afterwards I rinse under a (to hot )tap and dump it on the windowsill (amongst the dead flies etc ) and occasionally they get bunged in the ultrasonic +Milton solution.
