Hello everyone, my name is Tomi and I'm from Finland (in case it wasn't quite clear yet :P). I have quit smoking about 3 months ago and moved on to vaping and I have to say there is no other way I could have succeeded in that after smoking for 15 years.

I'm a singer/songwriter/guitarist/drummer/bassist and whatnot and I have a band called Doomsday Inc. If a little advertising is allowed, please feel free to visit our Facebook Page for music and info of the band!

Kelfen told me about this place so I followed. Me and her go way back and now we have this same hobby, if it can be called that :)

Anyways, the forum is looking great and it's nice being here. Rock on \,,/

Terve Tomi!

Been a while since I've been able to annoy you on a forum, and yes, we have a long and speckled history ;)

Hiya, welcome to the planet :) there are a lot of music lovers here as well as being vapers so I'm sure you'll find it very comfortable!

First of all thank you all for the warm welcome!

Welcome. So how big/small is vaping in Finland and how socially accepted?

I don't really know how big or small it is as I'm also fairly new to this all, but after a long time following and searching and looking into the availability of vaping related products the amount of webstores is increasing rapidly, so I guess vaping can be called more or less a trend here at the moment. The government is trying to make the country smoke-free by 2020, at the beginning of this year all cigarettes and smoking products got restricted visuality meaning purchasing smokes now requires you to ask for it and the price as well at the counter instead of just picking what you want, as it used to be. This alone has started a movement towards vaping as all the gums and plasters and pills have not worked for most people. Buying E-liquids is still a little tricky because nicotine is considered a medicine and therefore it cannot be sold in Finland, but buying and using it is legal.

Social acceptance has been surprisingly positive and vaping is allowed in almost all public places, whereas smoking is prohibited everywhere (even in your own balcony, if you have one). Certain bars have forbidden vaping indoors only for the reason that the E-cig resembles a real cigarette too much. I don't know how :D
