Hi folks.
Started vaping in sept 2012 to cut down on cigarettes and amazingly within a few weeks had cut out tobacco completely, despite only using the [unnamed brand] mass produced replacable cartomisers/cigarette lookalike systems (that to be fair, worked very well for me).
Moved to a Ce4 a few months later, and liked it enough to buy a second and then a third tank, where I then started getting the dry/burned taste.
Went back to the store where they sold me a SmokTec DCT system, which I loved/love and swap/swapped around with my Vivi Nova to keep things sweet.
I've loved both systems and I highly rate them. The reason that I use the past tense when talking about them, is because after 18 months of vaping, for my birthday yesterday I finally wicked and coiled my first Genny - a Smoktec RSST with a 1.2 ohm coil (I wanted to be able to use it on my SID as well as on my mech).
For a first build, I'm really pleased with myself. I followed the petar K method, a somewhat incongruous (but perfectly spaced with no hot spots - I'm really proud of it) 5 wraps of 28 gauge kanthal making for 1.2 ohms, on a Kamry KTS mech (I also use with my Smoktec SID at 10.0 watts).
My arriving question is this:
I use two 18650 batteries. One is a generic "Dishy" 18650 22mAh that came with my SID. The battery that was recommended for my KTS is a Smoktec 2800mAh 18650. I use the Dishy in my SID at 10 watts, and the Smoktec in my KTS.
Am I using the correct batteries for their intended purpose? I don't know much about batteries and less about "low" (to me) 1.0 ohm+ resistance vaping. Both batteries work great with my DCTs and both seem to work great with my RSST at 1.2 ohms, but am I pushing my luck by using these batteries? Should I be using a "better"/"safer" battery?
Hope I can learn a few things, and in the meantime, all the best and have an awesome day .
