Im completly new to rta,s and coil building , to make a start what size coil and how many wraps would you use on my 1st coil , i will be using 26 gauge ss coil and what resistance should i be aiming for ?

Anything above 0.2 ohms
http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp use this to calculate your ohms. Id say 7-8 wraps around a 3ml drill bit or coiler if you are running a dual coil that will ohm out around 0.25-0.30.
