There's so many beautiful and unique things about Alaska, I really do love it! Winters get rough and dark, but that's the only way to see the stars or aurora so it's totally worth it. That and the never ending sunlight for 3 months in the summer is always fun
I've done all the roads from Anchorage to Fairbanks, and some still aren't paved! The Glennallen/Delta Junction/Fairbanks loop is one of my favorite summer trips we take. Although the unpaved gravel roads can get rough on the back of a motorcycle! Thankfully, most main roads are paved these days. But I bet the scenery hasn't changed much since you saw it!
I had seen a bear or two before I moved here (and a bunch more since!), but I had never seen a wild moose. They are so damn big and they just roam around anywhere and everywhere! It's an interesting place for sure
