So I’ve been duel vaping whilst smoking for quite a while now and recently bought my first Kayfun that I’m absolutely loving. I’ve recently tried to come of the cigarettes completely and failed miserably. After experimenting when not smoking the best minimum amount of nic for me with the best flavour was 12mg that I was happy with rather than only vaping 3mg when smoking.

I’m having issues with throat hits, I am sensitive to them anyway but even with 70/30 vg to pg juice with my own nic salt vg juice I’m still having bad throat hits at 12 mg and for me this is what my barrier is to get of the cigarettes. I’ve tried everything from lifting to lowering the coil, source my own nic, high vg juice etc and still I’m failing to get a smooth throat hit at 12mg mark.

What is very odd, I’ve just started vaping flavour cabins net liquid 70/30 vg pg, and I’m finding every single bottle of them harsher than my dinner lady lemon tart at 12mg mark on both liquids. So the higher vg net liquid I’m finding harsher than the dinner lady on the same 12mg nic,

Im looking for advice from experienced e juice makers about how much flavours actually effect throat hit because in my case everything that’s logical is harder on my throat.

my biggest question is what is the most smooth commercial juice available in the uk you have tried with a smooth throat hit. I’m convinced it’s the flavours playing a big part I’n this as my evidence shows although I am sensitive to throat hits anyway and although a smoker actually don’t like harsh hits at all!

I MTL .50 between 10 to 12 W, I’m very happy with my setup apart from the throat hits, dropping nic to low won’t be a good soloution for me but I may consider dropping to 10MG if theirs no alternative. Ideally 14 - 16 would be enough if I’m completely of the cigs but throat hit way to hard!

any advice would be welcomed I wonder if anyone else has had this issue.

Salt nics are typically smoother (especially at higher nicotine concentrations) than freebase nic.

To rule out if its the flavourings or nicotine I would try getting some short fills, testing flavours without nicotine and then with nicotine so you can rule out the culprit. I know there are some sites who do MTL or 50/50 vg/pg in this format.

I have little to no MTL experience so hopefully someone else can chime in. I'll try and find some links to shortfills mentioned above.

Edit: Just as an example (there's other vendors/flavours/sizes etc) something like this: this https://www.driphacks.com/cryo-lightning/?v=79cba1185463 but dont add the nic until you've tested it without.

Personally I find tobaccos especially NETs hit harder than say fruity liquids but it's not by a massive difference. There are certain flavourings that def hit the throat harder than others but I suspect it's the nicotine If you can't handle the throat hit but need the nicotine then I would def suggest you try some nic salts, they provide a smoother throat hit and provide the nic hit more quickly. If you like Dinner Lady Lemon Tart then they do it in nic salts.

I MTL and would also suggest trying nic salts. On the other hand there was little to none throat hit. Also, ejuice is more sweet compared to regular one. I didn't like it so switched back to freebase. What I also found is that it depends on the aroma. Some taste harsher with the same amount of nic. I even found that more concentration of the same aroma makes a difference. I'm very sensitive regarding the throat (had tonsils removed) and like smoother vape.
If willing to go that route, I would also suggest making your own ejuice since you can dial everything to your liking.

i find NETs are always harsher, especially the first tank or so while you get used to it.

Thanks for your replies, I wonder if my nicotine has anything to do with it, I’m using Salt Base Nic S by vapour hub.

@Vapemate93 have you only tried the salt nic? if so it might be worth trying standard nic as well. the salt nic doesn’t agree with some folk.

Wait, so you're already using nic salts?
Can I ask what tank you are using?
Yeah it’s the Kay fun mini 21 but I will say It’s even the same problem with ever MTL tank I’ve owned. It’s more the problem that I’m sensitive with throat hits more than average folk

I’ve used standard mic but at 3mg as I only bought the salt nic recently as to try and get of cigs completely so I was told salt mic less throat hit. I will buy some standard mic and see how it compares to the salts. I’m not sure how much it’s got to do with the brand of nicotine I’m using is either.
