HCIGAR Hammer - Unimpressed

Ok got it to a 1 ohm Micro coil and vapes pretty well, so by my reckoning i'm vaping at 12 Watts?

would i be right in saying that this is totally gonna kill my battery?

Remember your not actually Vaping at 4.2 on a fully charged battery due to the voltage drop.

Edit battery will go faster but still last longer then a VV setup.

ok got it thanks everyone

so next question, flavour

Will I get more from a microcoil or if the coils were spaced?

It's the amp draw you want to be conscious of, amps = volts / resistance , so at 4.2V fully charged (but as ebayhomepc said there will be a voltage drop): 4.2V / 1 Ohm = 4.2 Amps. This should be fine, but what battery are you using?

erm 2.4 ohm

I take it that is a no no on a mod??

Nope, 2.4 is strangling the power from your mech. You are relying only on your battery voltage and the efficiency of the mech/atty combo (ie voltage drop) so as ebayhomepc says you should look at a coil no higher than 1.4ohm really but best between 1 and 1.3ohm to start with.

I'm using an 18350 3.7V battery

I use 18350 Efest v1 (flat top) 800 mAh imr 3.7V, I believe they are rated at 8C therefore 8C x 800 mAh = 6.4 max continuous amp discharge. I'm no battery expert though, so don't like to stress them anywhere near 6.4 Amps so don't want to sub ohm on my Efests (which would take coil amp draw up to and over 4 amps).

woah.. now that worries me... cuz i am a novice here.. but sub-ohming at 0.6 right now.. kf3.1+ caravela using an efest 350! haven't noticed any issues yet! shud i b worried?

I believe your battery can be charged up to 4.2V fresh off of the charger, but this will quickly fall to below 4V, plus the voltage drop in mods will mean that 4.2V is a theoretical voltage to assume for a fresh battery, but the reason I use this is in calculations is for an extra safety factor :)

With a 0.6 Ohm coil, it will be pulling 4.2V / 0.6 Ohms = 7 Amps

But will be lower than this because of the actual lower battery voltage, so I would guess that you are around the max continuous discharge limit for your efests (6.4 Amps if your batteries are like mine) with a 0.6 Ohm coil.

Whether you are happy to do this or not of course is your call :) But I believe (though having no expertise) that you are maybe reducing the life of your batteries by some degree by pushing them to their limits, how 'safe' this is I really wouldn't be able to say I'm afraid.

How much life do you get out of a 350 at 0.6 Ohm? I guess you get through a charge fairly quickly?
