woah.. now that worries me... cuz i am a novice here.. but sub-ohming at 0.6 right now.. kf3.1+ caravela using an efest 350! haven't noticed any issues yet! shud i b worried?

put it this way, rather you than me :eeek:

er, yes. I would be worried.

I will not go lower than 0.8 on any 18350 (at least until efest V2 arrive at Torchy's). 0.6ohm on an 18350 is asking it to vent IMO

I believe your battery can be charged up to 4.2V fresh off of the charger, but this will quickly fall to below 4V, plus the voltage drop in mods will mean that 4.2V is a theoretical voltage to assume for a fresh battery, but the reason I use this is in calculations is for an extra safety factor :)

With a 0.6 Ohm coil, it will be pulling 4.2V / 0.6 Ohms = 7 Amps

But will be lower than this because of the actual lower battery voltage, so I would guess that you are around the max continuous discharge limit for your efests (6.4 Amps if your batteries are like mine) with a 0.6 Ohm coil.

Whether you are happy to do this or not of course is your call :) But I believe (though having no expertise) that you are maybe reducing the life of your batteries by some degree by pushing them to their limits, how 'safe' this is I really wouldn't be able to say I'm afraid.

How much life do you get out of a 350 at 0.6 Ohm? I guess you get through a charge fairly quickly?

well am an accountant .. so i am a bit of a thick head when it comes to the dangers of these! my 18350s seem to last me about 6 - 7 sessions of vaping.. each session of about 10 - 15 mins .. so anywhere between an hour to 2 hours of continuous vaping approx. Dont know whether its good or not! :) life of batteries... meh... dont know yet.. these are my first set.. got them along with the svd ... Efest .. heard they are pretty good .. almost 2 -3 months ago.. goin good as of now! :) but now will need to recoil considering u guys are concerned!

ahem.. thanks for that! didnt know der were limitations like these in mech mods! :) frankly ... thought.. if its a mech.. neednt think about coil res.. unless it higher than ~1 ! good to know.. will take care.. thanks again!

damn... have been blowing clouds all over the place for the past 4 -5 days n now had to learn about it!

:D without sounding condescending, thats why mechs and novices are not a good idea. The mech atty and coil are fine but it takes a bit of knowledge and experience when it comes to the battery.

18350 are obviously the most restrictive, efest do have a version 2(purple) out which I think are rated at 15amps and will offer a bit more safety at low resistances. Unfortunately they are not widely available yet.

Yep, if yoy want to seriously sub ohm, mr 18350 is not your friend.

I have run efests at .6ohm, but I really really dont recommend anyone else to push it that far.

Ge some panasonic pd/pf 18650 cells and your good for .6 ohm. Samsung inr18650 15m's are good for 20a or you Want sony 18650 vct3/vct4 based cells, but expect to pay a premium for them at the Moment. I paid eleven quid for two of the samsung inr18650 15m cells last week, took a day to receive them, I'm just waiting on my igo w3 so I can properly stretch their legs now:whipping2:

Good luck on your impending mission to coil a W3 without losing your sanity

The W3 is a bastid to build, but practise helps.I've managed to get 4 nanocoils in mine within 3 hours....then saw Mawsleys review & the pictures showed the coils vertical so decided to try that.Took me 4+ hours of swearing like a miner,as the coils would snap soon as I tightened the screws,or pop soon as I hit the fire button. Was the result worth it,definitely. My cola juice tastes lovely, though can't go taking lung hits as I've some kind of bug that's left me unable to take even a mild TH without chasing my lungs across the desk.
