Something that I have 'discovered' about the Taifun, since using one for a few months now, is that they do like a thick wick! Big diameter coils and plenty of wick seems to get them rocking! I use 4mm eko these days. You can still get your low ohm micros/cottons at larger diameter by using thicker wire to compensate. After all, all that you are doing, as some folks do, by laying an extra bit of wicking on top,is creating thicker wicking, so why bother to do that when you can just build with a thicker wick in the first place? Trimming the wick so that the ends barely touch the tank, or not at all, also seems to suit 'em. Having said that, I have tried silica builds, leaving the tails 'long and dangly' vivi nova style, and it still vaped OK.
