HCigar Taifun GT... Other Owners Thoughts?

Something that I have 'discovered' about the Taifun, since using one for a few months now, is that they do like a thick wick! Big diameter coils and plenty of wick seems to get them rocking! I use 4mm eko these days. You can still get your low ohm micros/cottons at larger diameter by using thicker wire to compensate. After all, all that you are doing, as some folks do, by laying an extra bit of wicking on top,is creating thicker wicking, so why bother to do that when you can just build with a thicker wick in the first place? Trimming the wick so that the ends barely touch the tank, or not at all, also seems to suit 'em. Having said that, I have tried silica builds, leaving the tails 'long and dangly' vivi nova style, and it still vaped OK.

decided to go back to basics and tried just 5 wraps on 3mm silica with .23 wire and a 3mm peice on top and things have improved its a 1.2 ohm coil vapour is better, although the cherry menthol im using doesnt come through just getting the menthol.
been looking at the juice reviews so ive orders 5 10mil juices from vapemunki just to see if theres any difference there.

I love my Taifun's. Have used most wick types in them but my usual build is 7 or 8 wraps of 0.37mm kanthal around a 2mm or 3mm bit.

Twist the shroud so the gates ain't lined up with the coil and rest the bit with the coil on the top and secure the coil into position. This I find puts the coil at the correct height so the wick is straight.

Feed the cotton through the coil, you want enough so you have a bit of resistance and may need to twist the cotton a little to compact it enough to get the wick through the coil.

Screw on the little bell top and trim but not to close, at least a couple of mm sticking out each side.

Works perfectly every time.

Wrap around a 2mm syringe, and comes out at around 1.4ohms.....

put the plastic sheath and air pipe back in today its 10 times better although draw is a little tight, will have to have a hunt round see if i can find a tube that will fit the hole without the plastic. flavour and vapour is much better though. really dont get how peeps are getting it working well without the air pipe unless the coils need to sit right down near the hole. more tinkering to be done lol.

I line my one up so the Taifun GT logo is just above the base chamber that way the wick and coil sit a good 3mm above the air tube.

Cheers I'll leave it in then from now on. Did a bit of searching round before I got it all the vids on you tube were recommending ditching the air pipe lol.

My Taifun GT arrived and I used it today for the first time. I really like it.

I was going to get another type of tank. Ive also got a Kafun 3.1, but I might just get a second Taifun GT.

Had mine a couple of weeks now and could not stop it leaking so earlier when i rewicked it i tried pulling the cotton through the coil then pushing it down to just touch the deck so it forms a sort of u shape when it comes back up and through the slots. Fingers crossed but so far so good!
