What's new

Hello from Yankland

Hello all,

Vaper from Arkansas, US, here. Been smokefree and vapin for about 5 months now, and have loved every minute of it! I recently got into mechs, and even more recently (like, 2 days ago), rebuildables. After building a single coil on my Nimbus atty the first day, and a dual coil build on the second day (I was so happy I did it without a Youtube video lol), I thought I had this thing down...tried to do a better quality wrap when I got home from work today, and ended up throwing it down in frustration, ha.

Anyway, I'm having fun with this thing, probably the best pasttime/habit I've had in my adult life, so cheers, and I look forward to joining in your community!

Hi Bryan from a limey who loves Arkansas.. been a fair few years since I was last there however. I have travelled most of the states at one time or another and Arkansas has a special place in my heart. I spent an excellent 3 months hunting and fishing there and made some good friends.

Really? Whereabouts in Arkansas? I live up in the northwest, on the Missouri state line (in Bella Vista/Bentonville area)...good to hear, most people in the US don't even come here, haha. I sometimes miss the big city, but it really is beautiful country here.

As I recall I stayed at least a week in Washington county which I believe was in the northwest, I was staying at the time at a lodge near the Ozark park. I also spent time more southern within the state, mainly for fishing.. but the place I actually stayed escapes me. Whilst there I visited briefly places including Little Rock and El Dorado with many small towns in between.

Kind of funny, I went to Arkansas with actually fairly low expectations.. some yankies when hearing I was heading down that way warned me that I would be in redneck country and generally gave me a pretty bad impression of what to expect. What I found instead was a beautiful state with rightly proud, very welcoming and interesting people. Strangers would share a beer and a laugh readily.

Yep, I live in Benton County, which neighbors Washington County. :)

As far as the redneck thing, sure there are many of them, but if you look past outer appearances/stereotypes, most are just down to earth decent people like every where else. Glad you got to see the other side of things. Of course, people may have been putting on a good show, as we do like the English!

But yeah, the state has a horrible reputation in the country for that reason. And there is also a lot of methamphetamine here, which doesn't help with the image.
