Hello everybody! I've been vaping for about 17 days now after deciding to pack in smoking for good. I was only maybe smoking three ciggies a day (many more on a night out) but I just got tired with the cost but primarily I was concerned about how truly bad they are for your health. I was just feeling rotten after smoking them and decided to see if E-Cigarettes would help me out.
I was initially sceptical. Despite the health implications, there was still something inherently enjoyable about lighting up a cigarette. I didn't really get how sucking on a weird little electronic device in order to inhale fruity flavoured liquid would replicate that. Anyway, I decided to bite the bullet and go to a vaping shop. The guy was very helpful and explained how he hasn't smoked a cigarette in 18 months thanks to E-Cigarettes. I bought an Eleaf Mini i-Stick, which he advised was a brilliant starter kit, and some menthol and tobacco E liquid (6MG).
The thing was a bloody revelation. The first few uses of it were a bit weird as I was directly comparing it to the Sterling Red ciggies that I was smoking prior. One I got used to the taste of the vapour though I fell in love with it. It's as relaxing as smoking a real cigarette and doesn't leave you smelling like tobacco and feeling as dried out. Also, the lack of guilt after vaping compared to how I felt after blazing through cigarettes was a real burden off my shoulders.
Most importantly, I haven't had a craving for the real thing at all. Fortunately I was never physically addicted to nicotine but I enjoy the habit. My last twenty deck and lighter are still lying at the bottom of my bag but I'm going to symbolically throw them out tomorrow. They just seem like a chore now. I can puff on this device indoors when I want. I was a tad concerned that the convenience would make me smoke a lot more (even though it's relatively harmless) but I can put it down for ages and not think about it to be fair.
I don't mean any of this as a criticism of cigarette smokers by the way. I loved smoking them and I will look back on those days fondly but I just personally decided it was time to quit. I've signed up to the forum to educate myself more on E-Cigarettes/Vaping in order to get the most out of my experience. I apologise for any n00b errors in terms of my terminology - I'm new to this!
