Hello lovely POTV people

I will try to keep this post simple and hope someone out there can help...

The following things have happened:

1) I gave up the stinkies four months ago (go me!)
2) I bought loads of e-lites batteries and tips
3) realised you could refill the tips
4) bought 70/30 liquid and used that for months

So far so good, but all too fiddly and wanted to move to a second generation. So:

5) bought an ego-t with 100 pg juice
6) It nearly killed me. My throat felt like it was being shredded with razors
7) used my old (70/30) liquid in it
8) it continued to kill my throat. Just as bad as 100pg

So am back on the e-lites:

9) using the same e-liquid

but there's no throat problems!!

How can it be that using the same e-liquid is easy and a pleasure in the e-lite, but unbearable in the ego-t?!?

Am I vaping in an incorrect way!?!

please help!

The higher the PG the higher the throat hit, so 100 pg juice will be harsher.

Maybe try lower nic juices at a 50/50 pg vg mix.

Also remember to keep well hydrated.

A dry, scratchy sore throat is a common side effect for the first few days :)

Is the ego-t the one where you can adjust the voltage by twisting the thing at the bottom? If it is then try reducing the voltage.

Otherwise maybe try another clearomiser on it.

The ego battery setup is probably much more efficient at vaporising your liquid than the elite could ever hope to be. Try a liquid with a higher VG content and maybe try cutting down on the nic level a bit too.

Even refilling elites works out quite expensive compared to am ego and clearomiser setup

Thanks Mr!

Isn't it the case that the sore throat (temporarily) happens when you go from tobacco to vaping rather than from one type of vaping to another?

As I say, same juice, different devices. One happily vape away, one feels like tonsillitis!

It's non variable (600 I think) - I just wonder if I'm 'smoking' it wrong?

Thanks again for all your help guys!

Hi bud,

For my first week i had a killer sore throat as soon as i woke up.

A glass of water and a strepsil and the pain would go.

I would vape all day fine, and in the morning the sore throat would be back.

After the first week the sore throat is gone. I can chain vape high pg juice all day with no sore throat.

As far as how to "toke" it, its a different technique to a cigarette.

A much slower, longer pull.

Try a higher VG juice and see how you get on.

If you can get into vaping i can promise you will look back at your e-lites and laugh :)

Hi again Mr!

Absolutely bang on with the symptoms. First thing in the morning, mostly fine all day and then deathly at night. It got so bad I couldn't work. I still sound like a cowboy three days after stopping!

I'll take the advice from here and:

use a lower pg level
use a lower nic level
put a new cartomiser on
drink loads of water
modify my, er, sucking
expect a week of awfulness
come out smiling the other end

Thanks folks! What a great site!

I would try lower nic and more vg in your juice some good high vg vendors are
bestcigliquid
empvap
puffin e liquid

You say you have an ego-t?, I'd advise replacing the cartridge section with an Evod type tank, it will hold more liquid and give better vapour, When you use it take long slow draws remembering to fire just before and stop just after you draw. Since you've been using E-lites I'd reccomend going one or two mg strengths BELOW what the E-lites were (Theyre not as efficeint at delivering the nicotine from the liquid). I'd also reccomend a 50/50 juice but any of the standard shop bought PG/VG blends should be fine in an Evod type tank...:grin2:

you have a lot more power in your cig now. i could pull on an elite all day and not get a hit. slow the pull down and as said get a lower nic juice stick with it you will get to know your own system.
pg juice = throat hit and flavour
vg juice = smoother/cooler hit and vapour
try a lower pg concentrate 70/30 or lower.
good luck
