Hey guys. First off - hullo! I'm a 30 year old Londoner, stressed and smoking far too much with a girlfriend on my back about it constantly. Looking to get some advice on taking up vaping again, really hoping to get some help from this board. If I do manage to take it up again I'd imagine this site be a regular visit.

I tried a TW Titan-t about two or so years ago, was great for a while but quickly broke, went straight back to the analogues. I found the Titan-T far too airy and it leaked constantly.

Smoking since 16, probably an average of 15/20 a day - Marlboro Reds or equivalent thereof.

Requirements :

None of these e-cig lite / disposable / compact malarkies. Not concerned with how daft it looks either - just that it works well. I'm overwhelmed with the amount of choice on the market nowadays, but I want to get something good enough for me to tell if I can use it as a replacement or not in the long term. ie. I don't want a repeat of the TW Titan-T (nice while it lasted, but not sufficient for a heavy smoker)

Is it worth getting a starter kit or should I just buy the required parts? It seems likely I'd want to try out different components to get a harsher throat hit, unless there are 'out of the box' models that are sufficient. Honestly though I have no idea. I'd like it if someone could just point me towards a reputable UK store and say one of these... two of these... try one of these... etc...

My two main concerns are airy draws and lack of throat hit. Both will make me feel like going back on the analogues again. All help/comments/advice gratefully appreciated.

I wouldnt bother with the ego starter kits or anything like that, its worth spending a bit more. Personally i really like the kanger pro tanks and the protank 3 is being sold now. Go for that with an ego battery, 1100 mAh, you should be able to get a deal for 25 - 30 quid for a bundle including charger etc. You could spend a lot more money if you want but personally i don't feel the need to. i just replace the head every now and then, works out really cheap. I could sell these to you from my online shop but out of respect for the forum will not post links on details here. There is plenty out there, ebay is even a good shout.

Get yourself an SVD kit... it has all the joys of being Variable Voltage and Wattage, telescopic and takes both 510 and Ego type devices. It's cheap enough and looks smart. Rugged and will last.

Kraken Ecigs and MyEpack both have it for sale right now...

i'd recommend a Vivi Nova (top coil), or DCT carto tank. You get a good, warm bang for your buck. And who can turn that down these days.
You'll want a variable voltage or wattage device, to help tailor your experience to your needs.
MVP2, Vamo V5, Zmax. That will come down to personal taste.

Give it a fortnight and you'll be coiling and wicking, once you've had a decent vape.

Don't get Protanks. The vape is cool and airy as an airy thing.

I would also go for the svd kit. i had a vamo and switched to the svd as had some problems with the vamo ( not to say dont try the vamo as it is a great buy for the price) as it was faulty. Its worth spending as i started with an ego starter kit and then just kept spending on better tanks etc. all mounts up so easier to get something mid range as you will save money in the long run.

Hi and welcome. I'm new to this vapeing hobby, 8 days cigarette free, and I have managed on an eGo T. I am finding it a little "airy" now, but I have my eye on a pretty purple EVOD that's not overly expensive either. But its best to listen to the advice above, and find what works better for you x

I would go for a Vision Spinner battery (has a dial on the bottom so you can oomph or pull back on the power) but I wouldn't go for the Protank as suggested - an airy draw REALLY bothers me too, and the Protank is quite airy. In fact it bothered me so much I used it twice and haven't picked it up since. I also found them to be a cold vape, and I prefer mine warmer.

For out and about in the day I still use Mini Vivi Novas - they've been around for a while so people don't tend to talk about them anymore but I think they're brilliant, because they work for me. They're not expensive or proper high-end (and I've got a bit of that sort of stuff too), but just because they're not expensive or high end it doesn't mean they don't work well.

My tuppence worth.
What i'm using is.
Not to big all day kit = evod twin pack. A little airy but a good vape + spare battery in case one runs out or is on charge.
A lot bigger, use at home mostly, but does go out side in short mode. The Vamo v5 with a protank type atomizer. awesome bit of kit.
A little bigger still, the Itaste SVD. Kit should come with 2 x iclear30 atomizers and spare heads. Runs almost the same as the vamo.
Be advised you will need batteries and charger for the vamo and svd.
That's what I use most of the time.
As for the throat hit, go for 70/30 pg/vg mix with 18mg and 24mg nicotine. Don't go mad on buying juice though, you need to swap and change, until you know what suits you best.
One thing to remember when deciding what to get. Most starter kits come with an ego style battery with fixed 3.7 volt output.
The vari volt , vari watt. e-cig/lightsabre types have changeable power settings, so you can turn it up or down as needed.
Best of luck on your journey, and youtube or this guy have good reviews on the available options http://tasteyourjuice.com/wordpress/
