Hi there I just started myself and I started with a .02 kanthal wire from stealth vaper , you then have achoice of wether you what do go with cotton wick or silica .I myself started with voodoo wool 2 mm .there's loads of stuff on you tube by grimmgreen or my favourite rip tripper, hope this helps and have fun

I bought .32 and .20 kanthal from eBay, came very quickly. 20 meters in total was about £9.

I use cotton as wicks after boiling regular cotton balls of 100%.

Silica is grand but I like cotton ;) it's so versatile!

Buy a cheap RDA like the octopus or octopus mini and practice rebuilding on those.

I have used both 0.18 and 0.20 kanthal in my pro tanks and they work fine =]

If using the vamo, I don't think it fires under 1.3 ohms tho, just to flag that up ;)

Let us know how it goes!!

I think a good gauge to start with is 30AWG (0.25mm) It's thin enough to get away with just a few wraps but thick enough to microcoil if you want to go down that route. To replicate your 2.2ohm coils then 32AWG (0.2mm) would probably be better. 6/7 wraps around 2mm wick would get you around that ohm-age.

Hope you enjoy making your own wicks and coils. That's how I started getting REALLY into vaping. It stopped being a thing to stop me smoking and really became a hobby. I wish you all the luck in the world.

All the very best

See this post here for protanks/evods recoiling.

Anything from .15 to .25 works well for this, I used to use .20 for protanks and evods and for wicking material silica, eko or voodoo wool are all fine but cotton in anything is where it's at for flavour

Hope this helps

Enjoy and good luck

I am new to rebuilding too but soon found the protank to be too fiddly, I got myself a prometheus clone and find making a coil on these to be very easy.
I have 28 awg which was brought without any research but lucky for me it was the perfect size.

Get yourself a RDA or RBA
