What's new

Hi, been vaping a while but only using very basic setup, interested in mods...

Looking into this. Any quick reccommendations for a tank with a rebuildable atomiser?

Simplest way to learn coiling is to buy a Coilmaster v4 kit, some wire and some ceramic tweezers and a bag of muji or whatever cotton you fancy trying. Ask any other questions as you tinker away.

As a starter tank, I’d recommend the Berserker original or mini if you can find one. 1.5 is also a good one. They can flood on top fill, you can bottom fill though. The Hastur mini is straightforward. There is a knack to the wicking though. Watch plenty of video’s and you will be fine.

My 1st was a beserker mini, found it easy to coil from the start but theres a flaw in the topcap design wich causes it to push liquid through the wick and flood into airflow causing a little leaking. After a couple of weeks I resorted to bottom filling and have had no leaks at all that way (and get a little exta juice capacity).
The top cap got changed on v1.5 to fix this.
So I would suggest looking at the v1.5 if you decide on the beserker mini.

Okay my Eleaf 40W arrived today, very exciting!!

I mounted my Nautilus Mini onto it, which has a week old 1.6 coil which when using on my old ego battery tasted/ like it was near its deathbed... I have only been using it between 6-8.5 watts, and it feels more powerful!

Does anyone know what the voltage/wattage is of the simple Ego batteries, I haven't seen it listed, I'm trying to understand the differences.

good question. me personally im not sure but im guessing it would be around the watts youve been using.
what wattage have you got the istick40 set too. for me on any new mod i always put a new coil in the tank before i start using it. prime coil, wait 15 mins then start 5watts and turn up a watt after each few puffs.
the coil range if your using the nautilus mini bvc cois is:
1.6 BVC = 7-12watts
1.8 BVC = 10-14watts
0.7 BVC = 18-23watts

just to check as ive got 3 of these istick40TC mods and i do remember one of them started in TC mode but the other two started in wattage mode. make sure only wattage is shown to right of screen. if you see for instance 380f or c then it is in TC mode. you need to press and hold the middle button for 3 seconds to switch between modes. wattage mode only for nautilus coils.

Currently using standard 1.6 between 5-7.5W, its near the end of life so interestingly that range reduces the burney taste... will most likely replace the old coil and prime new one today.

Yes I haven't set to TC mode yet, though I did actually order some TC coils but leaving them till later as I need to read up on it first.
