I still consider myself a new user, I am on my second Sub OHM tank now and still not up to scratch. Anyway, I have been having a hard time with coils and liquids recently.

I was using a Vaporesso Gen 80s but the battery life was killing me, so just switched to a Geekvape Aegis L200 (Legend 2)

With the 80s the last few juices I used were heisenberg (VV) Pinkman (VV) Kingston Luxe Edition, and a knockoff of pinkman.

I am trying to figure if it is the juice or the coil which I am having issues with here. After like 3-5 days each of these juices started to turn really thick, like it was so hard to put the stuff in. After that it started going bad

The batch of pinkman I had before this one, the second tank I used of it was absolutely mindblowing, it came out fast and obviously still had enough thickness for a 70/30.

Going forward I have not been able to last 3-5 days on the Vaporesso GTI coil. I have vaped it at its lowest rated for the coil, and the highest.

The juices, well they all have just turned really funny. I am considering cutting down the nicotine to 3mg since it's a sub ohm. I wonder if that would make a difference.

Now I am using the L200, I put the most recent batch of pinkman in there, run through one tank (after a couple of dry hits.) The coil was already inside, unfortunately the manager was not in the shop I bought the device, so the lady there, she was a little inexperienced. I kinda wish I waited until Tuesday so I could get better advice before a purchase, but I had pre planned to get it that day.

The juice tastes awful. I accidently overfilled the tank the first time I filled it up, I wonder if that f'd the coil, I don't even know if I can say it tastes burnt, I think its getting there.. It just doesn't taste of berries. It tastes of nothing at all! the coil ive been using since Saturday evening. I have no idea what either of the juices I have listed are supposed to taste like now, apart from my first batch of pinkman.

I tried to take it apart to clean the tank, but on this device that isn't easy, so ill see if they can do it in the shop. I have lost a little pinkman from the tank flooding, so I know I have to replace it. But I am spending so much on juice, it is starting to really cripple me financially. Any advice on these matters would be helpful.

I just want to add one thing. The batteries the lady sold me were DEAD. I had to charge the device up and it took like 3-4 hours. I will invest in a battery charger at some point, but atm I need some coils, some decent juice and that bubble glass as 2ml is also painfully small.

Hello, sorry to hear about your troubles. Are you using the 10ml bottles of liquid or are you using the 50ml bottles and adding the nicotine yourself? What strength are you currently using?
When first putting in a new coil you should prime it by dropping a few drops of liquid into the exposed cotton and then put the coup in, fill the tank and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then vape at a low wattage say 15-20w for a few puffs then up the wattage slightly and take a few puffs etc etc until you get to your desired wattage, that can definitely help with coil longevity.

Hi. I am using 100ml shortfills and 6mg nicotine, dropping down to 3. Yes I have always primed my coils in the past. I guess she assumed (the shop lady) that the coil was ready to go as the coil was already installed. I did bring it up after she filled it but too late maybe. Priming, is a matter of contention. Most do it, its always good practice, some say in 2022 you just fill it up and it soaks it. I don't think priming is the issue since I have always done that. The coil is rated 70-80 watts and best at 70, which is what I have it on

To add, a lot of these types of mods nowdays are good to go whatever wattage you use them. If you vape them too low you can also risk burning the coil out. Its hard to know based on each individual device. I was told my gen 80s was good to go so I assumed this would be too. It doesnt taste as bad as the 80s in my L200, but it still tastes awful! This is just advice I have been given. Always trial and error, just I can't afford to spend another single penny on errors

Can you be sure you`ve got authentic juice? V V is a popular brand and there are a few bad copies, even with a shite coil, if that`s what you`ve got, you should get some sort of a vape.

sorry to hear your having issues.
for me the itank has to be the tank of the year so far.
8ml glass for £2.99 here but sold out at the moment https://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/itank-replacement-glass

now a few things, not a lot of new vapers know. the weather can have a big effect on thicker juice like 70vg. this time last week it was 17c and today was 6c so quite a big drop. this is enough of a drop to make the juice even thicker. you could leave it by a radiator for 30 mins and then give a good shake.
another thing ive found is when ive bought shortfills if it comes with a free nic shot it is almost always 100vg. for the past two years ive been buying a box of 20 bottles of 70vg shots and ive found that extra 30% thinner makes a lot of difference.
as youve mentioned your on 6mg so thats 4 nic shots in 100ml. if all 4 are 100vg then that wont help.

you should be getting at least a good week out of the gti coils as long as your following the above by priming the coil first then starting at least half of the wattage you are going to vape at. i vape at 50w and always start a new coil on 20-25w. take short inhales and every few puffs turn up a watt at a time. you most prob wont get any flavour or cloud at first but it is still heating up the coil and bedding it in.
which coil is it your using as if its the 0.4 then i found them a bit naff. the 0.2 or 0.15 are my go to only.
you could be just inhaling too hard and for too long. if the juice has thickened up then its not wicking the cotton fast enough so yo wll get dry hits.

ive always said since 2016 that single battery mods for sub ohm are a waste of time. istick60 was my first one and with the coil it came with i was running at 45-50w and was lucky to get 1 hour 10 mins out of it. totally pointless so a dual battery mod is in my mind a must.

most batterys as far as i know should have around 15% charge when you get them. and yes a first charge can take around 3 hours and thats with an external charger using 1amp charge. charging in a mod takes even longer as i believe its trickle charge.

saying the juice tastes awful. have you tried a finger test. drip a bit on your finger and see if i tastes of what it should be. it could well be a new batch and just need a steep for a few days.
another thing, once heisenburg is used you cant get rid of the taste for like ever, it will always be there so that taste in the background and the new juice might taste a bit rank as they just might not mix that well on your tastebuds. for heisen you really need a dedicated tank just for that flavour so it doesnt taint all the other flavours you use in your main tank.

not true. a 80w mod shouldnt be pushed to its limit.
vaping too low will not burn a coil out. it may flood it where it starts gurgling which mean the coil has flooded and needs more wattage. the wattage range written on the coil is just a guide and should never be believed. i always leave some headroom and most of my many tanks and coils can take max 70-90watts but i dont go over 50-60w on any make

Remember I have the L200 now so wont be using the 80s anymore. Cant deal with the battery.

Definitely some things to think about here. Next time I get some nicotine ill check to see what it says. I went through 3/4 a bottle of 50ml heisenberg. It gradually got worse.

I don't know if the same rules would apply for the L200, in regards to vaping it lower to start. I was advised not too, i am getting different advice from everywhere, some of it has just been trial and error.

I have only used PInkman since i have had the Zeus 2021 tank (L200) Just to say I am not cloud chasing, not outside anyway. I will mostly be using it outside, so ideally I would want somewhere between 45-60 watts max. The spare coil I got with my L200 can achieve that. Once I figure out how to clean the tank, get some new juice then I will attempt that. Not tainting another coil with this juice. I don't really have a lot of control over the weather lol. Its pretty cold here atm, and I am mostly out of the house. We don't have heating on all the time here
