Hi all,

New to vaping and been 4 days without a smoke now using an EGO type e-cig, but came across the Kamry k1000
and had to get it :) Only thing is, am a bit worried about batteries blowing up on me after a bit of research, so if any one with
one could give a little advice on how what and where regarding batteries, that would be great. Love the forums BTW :)

I live in Pen-y-Fai (Bridgend) which I guess is not a million miles from you so if you ever need any specific help give me a PM and I'll send you my mobile number. I'm always happy to help out new vapers in the area (not that there's a lot of us round here), if only for a chat and a vape in the garden.

P.S. stick to AW IMR batteries and there's not a lot that can go wrong but hold back on building your own coils until you've had a good chat with someone.

All the best,

SB. AKA Jase.

Aloha man, dont have a kamry but do have the smok e-pipe and the hammer mods, never had an issue with batteries. I use a 'Nitecore Intellicharger i2' to charge them and mainly use some protected Ultra Fire 18350's, I know for the Kamry you need to be using flat tops and usually get 2 in the kit.

What research has caused this concern for it blowing up?

Hi both.

@ Jase, I'm just down the road on the Broadlands, so not far at all will deffo end up messaging you no doubt. Thanks :)

@ Azrael_Fallen, Would the battery and charger be ok that comes in the kit? just when I was looking for suitable replacement coils / tanks i read that as its a mech mod it can cause batts to catch fire if voltage drops too much or over charged or shorted :s
or am I worrying over nothing ? Thanks.

:2thumbsup: Hello there, Nice to meet you!!!

Hiya and welcome to the planet. There is nothing wrong with being cautious with any battery safety and forearmed is forewarned. But as long as you are sensible (as you would hopefully be with any battery powered device such as laptops or mobile phones) you should be safe :) if in doubt just ask cos we are all always happy to help!

Thanks for the welcome and advice, I'm sure I'll have some more questions as I delve deeper ;) n looks like I found
just the place to ask um :)

The charger will probably be ok as long as you dont leave stuff on there all the time but I would always use well known batteries.
And all batteries can have issues if overcharged / shorted even in kids toys, you just happen to have a bigger battery, which is why most people go with protected to stop that from happening.
Its not really the mod part / tank its the coil, on my e-pipe i have a aerotank with 1.8ohm coils in for a few months without issue, and have also had my kayfun (running a 0.8 ohm coil) sitting on the hammer with no issues.

Follow usual battery safety and you should be fine.

Nice one. After looking at vaping power chart 2, I thought I would go for 2.4 ohm coils what you wrecon ? that's me going for safety and on a budget. Any thoughts on a replacement tank ? again most cost affective ?
