Hot Button

Noticing that the fire button on my KTS is getting warm...tho not red hot...will sanding the contacts help this or is it something else, it was okay at first but after a day its warming up?

its getting warm for one of two reasons
1) your finger is on it the whole time..body heat, and now psychologically you think it is hot (this happens...I did it...my wife did it...we get paranoid)
2) (more likely) it is dirty, acting as a resistor and warming up
Look for: bad contacts, rubbish springs and so on...its a "use the eyes" moment:-)

Mechanical mods do require maintenance, and this is one of those times...keep it clean, keep it performing.

no, you're probably not imagining it..the kts/kts+ has a hot button tendency.

but you may oneday change mods, and then you could be imagining it:-)

Oh I will be, the kTS was xmas prezzy ( not expected tbh) but I will be upgrading at some point, I had read that they have a tendency to get hot buttons and cleaning and rubbing down the contacts usually fixes it.

Hot buttons are caused by arcing when the connection isn't good. A rub down of the part that touches the battery should do the trick

not owned one but isn't the kts contacts plated, sure the fix was to sand them back to brass

I've got one..kts+ bought almost brand new on here from...I think it was Andyc1971..since then I have (effectively) pulled it through my ass playing with the button...sanding and so on...it still gets hot occasionally, and a brief run with sandpaper sorts it out. I just dont think its too clever in that part.

given it a quick rub on the contact points and it seems ok at the moment....still gonna invest in another mech of some description, I like the looks and feel of them. Thanks everyone....
