How To How to fix metallic taste on Protanks

I'm glad it worked for you. It seems your lips not touching the metal does make a huge immediate difference. I lost the first rubber cap that I used, I don't have another that fits snug. At the moment I have a big ugly black mouthpiece off a Mega dual coil carto on my protank. I'd rather it looked ugly but taste nice.
I want to try out the new Protank 2, it has a bigger tank, removable drip tip (so you can use your own) and the whole thing comes apart for cleaning. It seems Kanger do listen to there customers.

I'm getting this too. Just got a new protank and it tastes metalic. Thouhgt it was just a case of wearing in.

Just a idea... what about those rubber 'heat shrink' isolation tubes for wires. They come in various diameters and shrink to the shape of an object you put them around...

Protanks etc' are like genitals - they should always be washed before use. I don't use the Protanks any more but had the same problem with them as I do with the iclear 30's - I'm sure it's something to do with the 'machining' of them. I wash them when they arrive (before using) and now no problem. So is it in the machining or in my head, who cares as long as it doesn't taste of shit.

I changed my top out on my mod, I have a maraxus. It's the bomb! Anyway, the metallic taste did disparate some. Not all. If u wash it, how do u get all the water out? Call me blonde.....

I'll be honest I had this problem. I got so fed up with it I bought a kayfun. And then I found a cure.... I replaced the drip tip to a plastic 1. That made it a little better. Then I put it in the sonic bath at about 60

I get metallic taste too. A good wash helps but it's still there. I'm wondering if it's juice dependent that some people don't notice.. I don't have a strongly flavoured juice most of the time so I notice the metal

Oh my gosh drummer I know what your talking about when you hit your front teeth with the metal tip! Doesn't it feel lovely! Not.

Same here I have to say and I end up going back to the Evod, might try the fix above and see how it goes!

Just tried the same on a iclear 30, and its made a vast difference. No metal / cold feeling on the lips or the accidental clink of metal on ones teeth.
