You don't need a definition of what a hero is, here's a picture of one:

This is a collection of mistakes I made during the course of wanting to "just fill it and go". You can't.
Apologies for some of the photos but I was tired, I got very frustrated, it was a camera phone and (most importantly) I ended up not giving a shit.
Step One
Don't leave the airholes blocked with Delrin - drill them out, all of them. You can always cover one or two with your hand when holding it, I find it tricky not to.
Step 2
Don't forget to clean out the air chamber and the drip tank of any manufacturing debris or Delrin you've just drilled out.
Step 3
Don't use the original wick and coil, it's shit. Grab some 2mm, double it and wrap 4 coils of .2 A1 Kanthal.
Don't try to use thicker thread as a combined 4mm is a tight squeeze, as tight as you'd ever want. The next time I do it I'm going to keep 2mm as it is working really well.
You don't want to use this method to get the wick through that hole either - it was an unmitigated failure.
Step 4
Don't forget to remove the chrome plating from any point of contact where electricity needs to flow across: the base of the screw connection and the base of the switch.
The spring is stainless, you don't need to attack this.
Step 5
Don't forget to check that everything on the top part of the body is tight, on mine it was all very loose, I had assumed otherwise and had to strip it again.
Step 6
When you are tightening the top part up don't forget that the terminals will move. You don't want your positive terminal touching the negative, that is a 'bad thing'.
I found popping a pin between them maintained a perfect width and was easy to remove afterwards. This job, like everything in the process, was fiddly to begin with. You can see the resulting gap in the picture below.
But, mistakes made, I'm left wondering why I was so stupid and how simple it could be with knowledge.
Step 7
Fill the tank would be a ridiculous thing to do. No one would assemble an atty and forget this not even a tired, grumpy fat one.
