I've been doing some soul searching I think the time has come to pack the nicotine in. Hows the best way to do this? My health hasn't been very good. but theres no way i'm going back to the cigs. I know I feel better for not smoking. but I feel the time has come. I vape a lot and I've been trying to cut down. is it bad to vape a lot? my husband thinks so.

The easiest way to stop anything that is addictive is to do a gradual taper, this will reduces withdrawal symptoms and make it easier that just stopping.

Just add a little less nicotine every week or so until you are not adding any.

Whether vaping is bad or not I have no idea but it sure is defiantly not as harmful as smoking.

i'm on a 3 nicotine. thinking of cutting that in half. its been painless getting off the cigs.

When I went from 3 to 1.5 I reduced about a 1/4 of a nic shot at a time and had hardly any withdrawal symptoms, maybe a little uptight but all manageable :)

I went from 3-2 recently.
I only wish someone else added my Nic, I'd probably already be on zero. At this point it's more mental than physical, IMO.

I'm around the 3mg strength. I do vape zero at times but always go back to 3. I did do a lot of reading a couple of years ago about Nic and I deduced that Nic in Vaping is nowhere near addictive or as harmful as it is in a cigarette.

I believe nic only poses a risk of harm to vulnerable groups. It’s not the nic in fag smoke that damages your health.

IF I wanted to to get off nicotine, then I would want to combine the reduction in nic strength with strategies to prevent increased juice consumption.

I would probably want to reduce the power I vaped at. I would probably want to move to kit where I could easily track my juice consumption.
Perhaps using a tank that only contains a days worth of vape. Many of us probably controlled our smoking to some extent by seeing how many cigs were left in the packet compared to how long the pack was expected to last.

It is easy to reduce the nic strength and just vape more juice.
If you limit yourself to one fill per day it might be easier to guard against this. It might encourage you to start vaping later in the day, or to take longer breaks. Combined with gradual reduction in nic strength This should help IF you really want to break the nic habit.

Your mention of your husbands attitude , makes me think that perhaps you are not quite ready to give up for yourself.
You have made a big step to a much healthier life by stopping smoking. Your husband should recognise and support this.
If you want to take a further step towards becoming nic free then he should support that when you are ready.

Are you ready? Is that what you want, now? These are the most important questions.
If you really want it, you can do it. Decide on a strategy and a timescale and go for it.

The anti-vaping campaigns are hugely misrepresenting of vaping and disingenuous to say the least, the US has it's own issues with illicit and unsafe vaping juices, but much, most or practically all of it doesn't apply in the UK because kids aren't jumping all over it here and/or buying black market (unregulated) juices that contain ingredients that noone in the industry would claim is safe without proper testing (because no such market exists here). Why UK media hasn't quite caught up yet is anyone's guess, but i'd wager they're just parroting whatever US media is saying instead of actually taking the time to do some actual investigative journalism.

I wouldn't ever claim vaping is totally safe, but have a peak on the NHS (watch the video).
