I don't know where to start. These mixology tables are confusing me a tad. I sort of understand the pg/vg mix thing, and percentages with flavour and nicotine strength, but I don't want to buy mixing supplies and fuck it up. Ay help would be appreciated.

felt exactly the same way when i first started out mate so know how it feels, my solution was to to just dive in with it and experiment to get used to adding the percentages etc.
having made some truly crap mixes I'm happy to say the majority has turned out ok.

all i use is 2 syringes and a few bottles coupled with the potv mixing calc. :)

I think the easiest way to describe with minimal confusion is ..... its like making coffee. milk/sugar/coffee/water:

90% of people make 10ml bottles. a reasonable start (assuming no pg allergys) would be
2ml nic (strength wont matter, its a start)
2ml flavour
1ml pg
5ml vg

That will give you a general, middle of road startup juice. afterwards you get to play......
Not enough vapour?=more vg and less pg (1ml at a time)
too much vapour/not enough throat hit? = more pg and less vg (1ml at a time)

that's pretty much it to start.

now if you buy a bottle 54mg nic base (seems to be the norm) just divide the 54 by 10, this is your nic strength. so if 1ml of your bottle is nic, it would be 5.4mg. so your starter bottle was about 11 mg.

3ml nic will be 16.2mg.

is it becoming slightly easier?.

I just bought a mixing kit, from Leisure Liquids.you get 50 ml nicotine,PG,VG and water, lots of bottles and needles, everything you need.
The kit and two flavours, you buy the flavours separate,[same company. ,cost £31,
All I need to buy when I run out ,is nicotine ,PG and flavour.

I like your way yodadude. You have just made it a while lot easier and simpler for me to understand. I might just go and order a mixing kit too! I keep putting it off.

just remember at 54mg.. the strength of your bottle is....

1ml nic=5.4mg
2ml nic=10.8mg
3ml nic=16.2mg
4ml nic=21.6mg
5ml nic=27mg
6ml nic=go see someone, you need help :)
7ml nic=DON'T

Here's my general rule of thumb. I use 72mg PG nic base and capella flavours, so to get 10ml of 18mg juice this is what I do:

Nic base - 2.5ml (25%)
Flavouring - 2.0ml (20%)
PG - 0.5ml (5%)
VG - 5.0ml (50%)

Which gives me 10ml, 18mg, 50/50 ratio. Easy as that. :)

Great explanation yodadude and do give it a go Midnight, I started DIY back at the start of the year, initially as insurance that I'd be self sufficient if a ban came in! It's great fun and so satisfying to mix a flavour that rocks! Handy too that if it doesn't hit the spot, you can add a little more of this and that…:diy: Nell x

I started mixing bout 3 months ago, some hit and miss flavours but stumbled on some belters which then gave me confidence to carry on. Now make up my own kits for people, also sell my liquid to a core of about 40 people. Top sellers seem to be old school sweets, blackjacks, fruit salad, pear drops, cough candy twists. Also re-wick for same people. I now vape for free and indulge myself with various MOD's from the profits
