Independent: Man in Georgia, US, suffers serious injuries as e-cig blows up

I once read a similar thread somewhere on here. Turned out the guy was simply trying to shoot himself through the roof of his mouth, but derped and used a blank. Later on it was picked up by some wanna be journalist and used as a "my mech mod failed" kind of thing.

But I will assume that this was a mech mod going bad in this case, and by "going bad" i really mean user error. See, this is the reason I don't use mechs - not because i don't know ohm's law, but simply because i don't even want to entertain a though of having a teeny tiny chance for a chance that i'll mess up and cause damage.

"Lauria said he was keen to talk about the incident was keen to talk about the incident to warn others about the apparent dangers of e-cigarettes. The South Fulton Fire and Rescue Department are currently investigating the incident."
- See, now I call bullshit on this. Long story short: probably ashamed of causing damage to himself as a result of being an idiot, takes cash for spreading BS. An actual vaper who has brains would word it differently, in a way that doesn't put vaping into bad light but still reinforces the need to be very careful with mechs and batteries. I don't believe this guy at all.

Where is the picture of the offending mod / vaping device? What brand and model was it, if an external replaceable battery was used what make was it? Too many questions that haven't been answered. If this is a valid and genuine major health and safety scare then all that info must be made available.

Next up will be a shredded penis, reportedly caused by a defective e-cig but in reality caused by being sucked off by a powerful vacuum cleaner, no powerful vacuum cleaners left in the EU though, they banned em, damn.

Wth isn't that mech mod photo from the report of the guy who got his ecig embedded in his ceiling a while ago?
Edit... I guess all exploded mechs kinda look alike lol

I'll just leave this here..

The odds of becoming a lightning victim in the U.S. in any one year is 1 in 700,000. The odds of being struck in your lifetime is 1 in 3,000 - National Geographic

And he has posted on twitter a couple days ago with an ecig saying it was a fabricated news story. He was in hospital but for something else

Where?

This is not what was said to Fox News by him or his parents.

Nope.

A load of vapers took it upon themselves to make up a story about the guy attempting suicide because they clearly had fuck all else to do like being bothered to read up on the story. His whole damn platoon backed up his account.

NEVER, EVER read the comments section of anything - it's even worse for your health than smoking! :)

Never read the bottom half of the internet! :D

Here is a photo of the rig in question

If that is what I'm thinking of is this the genius that decided to attach an Atlantis to a hybrid mech?
