Just an update on the dead rabbit,am still not getting much flavour with it,use cotton bacon prime v2 and wire I originally got with the ares.Am near the point on giving up on rta's but do I need to try some decent pre made coils first as that's the only thing I think it could be.

The wire that used to come with Ares used to be Kanthal, I'd try using Ni80 or SS instead.
