Hey all,

Having an issue with my T20 *occasionally* leaking through the air intake. Seems to happen more when I've filled it up.

I'm extremely conscious of not filling it up too far and also not getting any juice in the chamber, so it's not that. I only brought it on Saturday so haven't changed the coils etc and I'm assuming the O-Rings must be fine for a device of its age.

Sometimes I can blow into the drip tip to actually force the liquid out of the holes, it's annoying. As I say it isn't all the time. When I unscrew the top it does appear to be leaking from the part that screws into the battery (the coil??)

Any ideas, or is this just simply something you have to put up with?

Found this on another site:

"I think I may have narrowed down the leak problem, somewhat. It seems to be that I can fill it, and after assembled, I can blow out the excess after I assemble it, and it doesn't leak. I think the act of screwing the lid/tip back in causes some positive pressure in the tank and a bunch of liquid to wick into the center. Blow into the mouth piece with the whole assembly over a paper towel, wipe thoroughly, then it seems to be fine.

My theory is, if you don't fill it completely, half a tank or less as I mention above, there is a bunch of air, which compresses, so the leak isn't so bad. With little air to compress, it acts like a hydraulic pump and pushes more liquid through to the center."

Haven't used this product myself but IMHO a decent product should not consistently leak. My advice would be two fold. If not filling it up fully doesn't stop it leaking how about trying to fill it up and see what happens? Also, make sure that after you fill it up don't leave it sitting for long without either vaping a few hits on it or taking a few dry hits to re-introduce a vacuum in to the chamber.

so from what i understand, the bottom of the tank unscrews to get access to change the coil? have you checked that the tank is screwed up tight? maybe the coil is not seated correctly, or there is some swarf/dirt stuck in there that is causing enough of a gap for the liquid to seep out under pressure.

Once you have refilled (not quite to the top) start the thread back onto the top the invert the tank before screwing it on tight... Used to work for some pressure leaky tanks... Worth a try

Cheers guys, I'll try everything suggested. Tried returning it today and paying the difference for a Zelos, buy the guy wouldn't exchange it as "there is nothing wrong with it"...

Hopefully some of the above suggestions work for me. Either way I'll be upgrading at the end of the month

Did you tell him it leaks?

Weird. Sounds like it might not be tight enough or is as you say, leaking due to a bad seal.

If you have tried to blow out all the liquid and refilled, followed the instructions etc. then I'd first seek a replacement and failing that, a refund so you can buy something more to your needs - that works as it should.

If it leaks, it leaks. He's just being difficult otherwise - he should replace it. Sometimes you have to just be a little strict on B&M and mention trading laws and what not. Ask for a manager if he continues to be difficult. He has to rectify the issue at the end of the day.

Yeah I told him it leaks, he said that they all do if the tank has air intake located on the bottom. It's not excessively leaking so I think I'll just put up with it. Made my first batch of juice today, works out about £1.98 for every 30ml so I'm laughing really, a little leak isn't the end of the word.

Well no sweat off my sack, he's lost out on another £25 that I was willing to pay to upgrade. Bloke is a bit of a twat to be honest, I think I know more than him through researching online for 4 days. Tried telling me the Nautilus X has bottom air intake.

Just need to decide between the Aspire Zelos and Cool Fire IV now. Think I'm leaning more towards the Zelos as it has a (very) slightly better battery and more wattage

I had the same issue and found this thread. It’s years old but if anyone else happens upon this thread like I did.. I found a solution. My coil was not screwed in securely which leaves a gap at the bottom of the tank = leaks. There shouldn’t be a gap and it should sit flush. If this sounds like yours, take a look at your coil. No more leaks- hurrah!
