Is it time to replace this Molicel P26A?

Hello everyone, I have 3 batteries that I use for my mech mods, two P26A's and one P28A, which are labelled in permanent marker when I purchased them.

I have noticed with one P26A, even once fully charged to 4.2V and fresh off the charger, it is hitting like a battery that needs to be changed- I have to hold the fire button down for longer, and also get less vapour.

I have also noticed with this one when I pull it it is around 3.4V, when I pull the others they are around 3.6V.

Where it isn't hitting hard, and the capacity seems to have gone down, does it mean it is time to replace this one, and also order a few more as the others are dated around the same time and have probably had the same use?

For mech use I'd get the molicel P30B, from mooches testing of recent ones, best 18650 over 10A, with a 30A CDR and low internal resistance, 3A standard charge rate.

Thank you, just checked out the P30B's and they are £7.99 a pop at fogstar, limited production run but a 3000MAH capacity, 30A CDR, and 3A standard charge, they seem like a great battery!

Looking at Mooch's tests he rates them at 25A, which is still the same as my P26A and P28A batteries, but with extra capacity, which should come in handy between charges.

I doubt I will be even going near the cells CDR, the most I pull is about 16.8A but it will be nice to have the headroom incase I fancied building lower, and the extra MAH.

If in any doubt I'd replace the battery. As this one doesn't seem to be hitting as hard and your having to press the button longer even though you're not even close to CDR indicates it is struggling so I'd suspect some type of internal damage.

For the price of a replacement it isn't worth the risk - bin it.

Heres his latest tests, molicel say max is 36A and mooch says 30A is continuse. The low 9.4 internal resistance usually mean less voltage sag so good for a mech.
Not seen any testing but its possible you might get more charge cycles out of a P30B.

I was looking at an older bench test, yes it is indeed a 30A continuous cell, that gives me plenty of headroom to experiment with builds.

That internal resistance is very low, and yes will mean less sag so will be great for my use.

It is possible the P30B will give a longer life with more charge cycles, if this is true it will be handy not having to replace them as often.
