What's new

It's not about not complaining - it's more a case of even if they send me a safe replacement, it'll still be a cheap and nasty replacement. As I said, happy to make the point to them but I'll buy something that I am satisfied will do the job safely and effectively.

I have no problems complaining about the suspect charger - in fact, I will do so. However, I will still order a new one based on the recommendations of folks on here. I put the safety of my home and family above all else - it's not worth the risk.

If that vendor is a member of ECITA, then I'm sure Katherine and her team would be keen to hear about this : http://www.ecita.org.uk/

Even if they aren't a member of ECITA, then ECCA would probably be interested : http://www.eccauk.org/

If you get no joy, then there's always Trading Standards : http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/

Don't let them get away with selling inappropriate gear.

Name and shame!

I had utterly no idea what a can of worms I'd be opening. I'm not sure naming and shaming would be appropriate - I haven't checked all of the rules and regs of this place, but I'm not 100% certain that the mods would be happy if I did that.

I'd recommend that you get in touch with the vender first and give them a chance to put this right and explain themselves before you name and shame on here. Let us know how you get on though.

Very diplomatic:-) clear breach of regs,so I'd be happy but would give vendor opportunity to put right first

I was just about to say that I will contact them first, rather than exposing them... I will definitely do that, though. I have just looked on the internet and it looks a lot like this... View attachment 18941

I agree with what Blossom said. Get in touch with them and take it from there, they might be unaware of what their legal obligations are and giving them a chance to sort things out right is the right thing to do.

I care a lot about making sure the stuff we sell (as in UK vendors collectively) is safe and fit for use, the more vendors there are that do things right the better.

Totally Wicked have a Trustfire in their clearance section very reasonable.
I'm a newbie too but have been told these chargers are pretty good.
