Just did my first micro coil.. resistance..???

Wanted to play and my RBA will be a while coming from China..

But my as Vamo V5, stopped working today (think its the batteries playing up as they wont charge either) so I cant check the resistance (or the batteries for my Vamo) as my Multimeter is at my workshop..

I had a guess it works but its not producing much taste or vapour.. but I suppose not bad doing a cotton, micro coil in an EVOD as a first attempt..

I did 12 wraps of 0.2 Kanthal around a 2mm piece of silver steel, then torched it and got it looking proper tidy.. fitted it, then threaded through the cotton wool, getting the cotton right was harder than making the coil..

It works but its not brilliant.. I would have thought resistance is too high..????

Cant get my meter until tomorrow.. will do again if people can point me in the right direction for increasing/reducing wraps..??

.25 kanthal 8 wraps should be about 1.8ohms using a 2mm drill bit.

But I dont have any 2.5mm kanthal lol.. I think I will have a go at 10 wraps.. does that sound about right.?

NOPE.. just thought about it, .2 has more resistance so would be less coils to get to 1.8ohms.. so I suppose 7 or 8ish.?

Check out the resistance chart in the wiki, I was mucking about with microcoils with .28 gauge yesterday and found it helpful.

Especially for @Pepper 0.2mm x 2mm Micro coil/Cotton build in an EVOD/MT3 head and the nasty Kangertech wick that lasted 24hrs..
