Ever start doing something and right from the off your thinking its a bad idea? Well thats how I felt doing this build but I ignored it and carried on.... glad I did.

It was a bit of a squeeze but I got it in.

Then would you believe it I tried wicking it with silica, my thinking is it was going to get hot in that little coil chamber. When I put the chimney on I realised I was not going to get the wick in there, even if I did the wick would be choked off pressed against the sides.

So I went with cotton instead.

Here is the result. Tho I'm vaping it on my nemesis.

All in all considering I did it with 0.5mm because I'm always using 0.3mm and wanted to actually do a build with the 0.5mm it turned out ok.

I think the ideal for me would be a 0.4mm kanthal build... I've got some 0.2 so may try a twisted build next.

Right now I'm enjoying vaping this beautiful thing :) The kayfun has always produced very thik vape, but now jeeez its soaking :) Touch wood I've not had a dry hit yet, though I'm careful not to chain vape it as it gets warm and I don't want melted insulators etc...

I've seen a coil like that before and couldn't remember where, then I realised it was on a clothes peg. :P

Lets see, on my nemi taking into account resistance in the nemi, battery sag, I'd say 3 volts is going through the coil so by ohms's law thats 18 watts realistically I'm being very conservative there so lets say around 18-24 watts?

With the given air flow though I think at 0.5 ohm on such heavy wire your on the very boundary of diminishing returns, hence why I want to try with 0.4mm kanthal some time.

I use 0.4mm kanthal on my Kayfun.

Forgive the state of the deck, i dremelled the juice channels :grin2:

cheers, there is the answer to my question, 0.7 *sounds* ideal. I'll be ordering some 0.4mm on my payday order ta.
