Hello people's,

Original Kayfun v4. I am have managed to get my wicking down where it is good enough but the wick only last for a full day use. Let me explain. Always koh gen do cotton. 0.7ohm on SX mini, 16w to 17w usually. Ruthless vapor jungle fever 85% VG.

Thin slim wick.
Works great. Only last a day before the flavour drops off. Need to change wick daily. If I leave it by midday 2nd the kfv4 is simply not good.

Thick wick.
Dry hit after 3 drags usually. Last 2 days but only 1 or 2 drags before dry hits.

Problem is that the thin wick work great but I also know that the base of the tank is gathering liquid meaning every second or other day I will need to tank the actual 510 base apart and clean it properly before putting the cool base back and the tank top half. I don't mind cleaning the tank but I am not going to spent so much time doing it every other day. Makes no sense to effectively waste my time.

I am seriously considering rayon cellucotton. I heard it wicks really well and much faster than koh gen do Japanese cotton. Only down is that it shrinks but I don't mind packing a little extra to make it all work.

Open to options guys. Simply don't think koh gen do is up to the job without regular cleaning. I want 2-3 days between wicks and it's not happening. Please remember, not a newbie and have various tanks and a Marquis RDA.

have you tried Cotton Bacon?

Nope. Only organic cotton and Japanese cotton via koh gen doh. Not tried cotton bacon. Is it that much better? What about compared to rayon/cellucotton?

Sorry can't comment on rayon/cellucotton as I don't use it, but cotton bacon does wick better than organic / jap cotton

why not give it ago, Stealthvape have it for around £3.50 ish

if you need a linky let me know

I've been using Rayon for about 6 months and it has been by far the best wicking material for me. I don't get any of the problems you've described, and the flavour is superior to Muji and Koh Gen Doh.

But, try Cotton Bacon first, the reviews are good and some people experience reactions to Rayon.

One tip when using thick wicks - once installed, flatten the tail of the wick and cut it diagonally from the end of the wick to the coil, both sides. This will allow quicker transit of the fluid up to the coil.

guys...ordered some cotton bacon, also just remembered I have a small amount of rayon for a couple wicks somewhere. I'll try the cotton bacon first and see how that goes.

Hope it does it for you

I've found over-filling it can cause an airlock and dry hits...loosen the drip tip a little till you see a few bubbles rise up and then close it again...

Shezz I have tried that already, first thing as its logical that I too fill so open and closing it might help it flow. Right now vaping at 15w. It vapes but prefer it at 17w as the flavour much radically improved. Will test the cotton bacon and see how that goes.
