On with the saga..

I've built my new KF4 with .20mm twisted Ni200 (see Mephisto thread, thought I'd got ticker!)

It vapes like a champ, *but* keeps jumping from temp protect to normal watts/volts. It works fine in normal mode but defeats the object of having a DNA 40.

I've got a 5 wrap 3mm micro coil in there with perfect contact and no overlaps or shorts. As I say it vapes perfect. It just won't stay in temp mode. I've tried upwards of 15 builds, twisted, not twisted, contact, no contact coils and it keeps popping right out of temp mode.

As soon as I put the mephisto back on it works as expected, so I don't think it's the device, it's the KF.

Has anyone else had any issues like this with the KF4 (or other atties) using Ni200 and a DNA 40 mod? Any solutions? Can post build pics if it helps, but may throw it at a wall if I see that build deck again today!!!

Cheers!

What ohm coil are you running it with?

I found on my rdna40 with the kf4 that you have to make sure the juice control is fully open and tight and also that the 510 pin is screwed in tight too

Then reset it by removing a battery

It will then default to temp but can be a tad temperamental

@mrhardy01 just seem your other post. I've replied on there. It's at .22 ohms, and it's a .20mm twisted Ni200 at 10 wraps on a 3mm mandrel. Strangely enough, I just took the Mephisto off, but the KF back on, and it's working in temp mode hunky dory!

Mine stays in temp mod fine but I can vape it all day long and the ohms stay fine. Then if I leave it for 30 mins the ohms are .07 higher, unscrew and screw it back on and hit new coil and it's back to normal.

You had any problems like that?

I think that's heat. Mine go up and down as I vape. That's what Ni200 does though. Not sure about it going immediately back to normal though when you take the atty off & put it back.

Sounds like an intermittent connection, twisted is more prone to this, if the coils are touching this could be part of the prob. I would take the wick out and tighten the coil, turn temp limit off, pulse the coil, tighten, pulse and put it back together.

Will have a good look at it tonight after work. Was going to rebuild it but I'll try this first. :)
