LeisureLiquids ~ Dekang Silver Label

"This is a personal review of a product I received free of charge. The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of this website, planetofthevapes.co.uk"

OK, a quick review of the flavours I received courtesy of LeisureLiquids and the POTV Giveaway - Thanks again !

First of all, I won`t go into extreme detail as flavours and nic strengths are subjective to each individual, so will simply try to give a personal impression of each one...

A quick note on the packaging to start, boxed, cellophane shrink wrapped bottles with holographic identity band and child friendly caps etc - this is since Dekang decided to curb copycat products I think...
one oversight I did notice that Dekang could have addressed, is the fact that the bottles are sealed with a full plastic stopper, rather than a dropper nozzle - no problem to anyone who`s ever had any kind of bottle previously as they are the standard nozzles, but if someone was to buy a Dekang bottle for the very first time ever, it might pose a slight problem.

Onwards....I had no preconceived ideas of these liquids (or any premixed liquids for that matter) - apart from being familiar with 2 of the flavours via testing from concentrates previously, by name only as they were different brands to my knowledge, so no comparisons can be made against similar types of products.

Flavour strength, as a user of very mild self mixed flavours - I was expecting these to FAR be stronger than anything I would make, but was pleasantly surprised, they are very nicely flavoured and are not overpowering or cloying in any way - so 10/10 for that.

Gold & Silver 18mg

Well ! This one took me totally by surprise - there was raised eyebrows and everything !

I almost feel like a broken record with regard to my adventures in tobacco flavourings, I have tested quite a few and can tell instantly if I don`t like them....
the usual suspects that have in your face flavours or undertones of certain things I don`t like at all....some being worse than others..

I`m going to say it again, I have never had a cigarette that tasted of biscuits and/or nuts, some flavours were artificially cool on the exhale even though they weren`t menthol,
some tasted of the smell of fake rubber dog bones and some reminded me of the smell of food that was laced with MSG, oddly sweet & savoury...and then there`s the cigar/cheroot type flavours.

This was none of those things.

I`m not sure how long this blend has been available, and while I`ve noticed the name on a couple of occasions recently (ie: this year) I don`t recall it being widely available at the time when I was testing different ones, (ie: last year)
but I haven`t been actively seeking out new tobacco flavours for a while - if I had have found this one, as it is here in this Dekang mix, it`s quite likely I would be using it regularly.
Particularly if I had found it first when looking for a tobacco "replacement" - I quickly found that it was easier to try to find a substitute as realistic tobaccos simply didn`t exist off the shelf, not that I ever found anyway back then.

Things seem to have changed though, and I`m going to put my neck on the line and say this is the most realistic cigarette flavour I have ever tried.

While I don`t recommend anyone rubbing nicotine liquid onto your flesh, I`ll usually get an idea of a juice by using a single drop and testing it like you would a perfume - this has quite a realistic "ashtray" smell...

it`s not overly strong, but particularly on the nasal exhale - you really can tell it`s a very convincing cigarette "flavour" - I was pleasantly surprised, and little bit shocked (and almost amused) at the authenticity.

If I had just started vaping and was determined to find a cigarette flavour, I wouldn`t be at all disappointed to start off with this one....well done Dekang !

Cherry 18mg

Another nice juice, I would say this is a "red cherry" type flavour rather than Black...it`s not sweet and is rather a dry style, so could imagine a cherry lover would be able to vape this over a period of time.

Some of the fruits I find can be too sweet/strong and end up being sickly - but this isn`t like that..

I also find that most, if not all, fruity flavours whether they are for vaping, in foodstuffs or anything else are so far removed from the actual fruit themselves it`s quite scary....but on the other hand, some fruits are so wishy-washy in reality the artificial varieties are actually doing you a favour by being bigger than life.

It`s the kind of cherry flavour they would use in cherry sore throat sweets, and red cherry yoghurt etc....definitely not the black variety everyone knows.

Not a great deal more to say on this, it`s actually really quite nice - existing cherry vape lovers will recognise this flavour, as would anyone else.

Fruit Mix 18mg

Now, here`s an unusual one...rather than a single fruit, this is a mix - but I can`t put my finger on what they are.

It`s more inclined to the tropical fruit flavours and I think it may be PassionFruit at the front of the mix, but it`s quite difficult to determine what else in in there.

having tested a few fruit flavours in the past, sometimes it`s easy to forget which is which if you don`t use them regularly and get to know them very well, and sometimes one is similar to another - like Mangosteen is similar to Lychee IIRC

In fact, I think there might be Lychee in this as well ;)

It`s very pleasant, not too sweet at all, on the nasal exhale there is a faint hint of "Refresher Sweets" - but not enough to be offputting if you aren`t keen on that fizzy/acidic/fake sweetness sort of effect - which I`m not.

So in conclusion, a rather nice tropical fruit based mix !

PS. This does not have an imposing Mango flavour - which I find can smell & taste a bit like cat pee in both vape flavours and also tropical drinking juice in a carton.

...atomisers being cleaned

OK, I left these 2 until last as I was already aware of them by using the concentrates previously - from who, I can`t recall.

Now I`ll have to say upfront that I didn`t like these when tested as independent flavours from concentrates, but will try to be objective about the Dekang premix.

RedUSA

Just imagine I`ve got a wig on and picture Jilly Goolden: I`m getting a touch of Plasticine, threatened by a hint of menthol wrapped in toasted Beech leaves..

That`s what I`m getting from this, and remember it from last time - a slight coolness on the exhale and very faint "taste of the smell" of Plasticine,
it`s not exactly what I would call Tobacco, but if some 'American cigarettes' do have this about them, then that`s all well and good.
If anything I would say they`re more like an unbranded European duty free loose tobacco might be...a bit "toasty" and on the darker, rougher side, but has a touch of sweetness as well.

(We have to also draw a distinction between fresh tobacco and burning tobacco when relating to vaping flavours - it doesn`t fit in place quite correctly in my mind when referring to the former - especially when it`s undetermined what they are supposed to be)

That said, and I must be fair - this is not a bad flavour - and in this state as provided by Dekang, is really a perfectly good flavour...I just wouldn`t call it tobacco.

This is another one of those "tobacco" flavours (and there are many similar) that I think should be classed as a yet unnamed new type of vape flavour....falling somewhere between tobacco and savoury.

People who are already familiar with this flavour and love it will be wondering what meds I`m on - but all I can say is it`s not one I would be happy to vape every single day as a "tobacco"

If Dekang and their peers were to rename these types of flavours to something else and not say they are tobacco, then I`d "get it"...

I don`t want to sound like I`ve got a downer on it as it`s not bad at all :)

RY4

Right, I`ll try and keep this brief....I know there are plenty of people out there who LOVE Ry4, I`m not one of them and will try to just explain why.....

Imagine someone puts a full gas mask on your face then attaches the other end of the hose to the ventilation outlet fan of a Chinese restaraunt operating at full belt on a Saturday night....

now imagine an hour or so later, you take the mask off and you can smell & taste the savoury sweetness of MSG overload for hours afterwards, and that`s how I find RY4 ;)

It` s a little bit biscuit in the background, a bit sweet but also weirdly savoury - I don`t get it at all, and as above, if it wasn`t pushed as tobacco then I`d understand better.

But, this isn`t all about how much I don`t like RY4 and have to try and imagine how other people will find it - well, that I can`t answer, but if you like RY4 and it`s derivatives (there`s plent of similar ones of these as well)
then I can`t see any reason you wouldn`t like this one.

It`s not a "bad" flavour, and I couldn`t begin to judge other`s preferences, but we know it divides opinions like Marmite - I just don`t want to have the sensation of previously having eaten something when vaping tobacco flavours ;)

As far as quality of juice is concerned, and really the most important point overall as people need to decide for themselves as far as actual taste & flavour is concerned, then I can`t fault it at all in that department.

Really great to get honest reviews on these products, especially as there was a couple there that I have never vaped and am not too keen on myself including the RY4. Many thanks
