Lipo battery charging via USB protected module advice?

So after stripping down my defective Aspire Cobble I want to use the battery on another electronics project.

I tested the LiPo battery and it's fine 3.7 volts.

I don't think the included mini board has the full protection as it leads off into the circuit of the main board and 3 wires so I would rather replace it with something I know has protection and 2 wires.

I was going to use one of these that I already have:
Micro-USB 1A 18650 Lithium Battery Charging Board Charger Module
https://www.fasttech.com/products/5054400

Anyone now why it's stated 18650 specifically? and Li-on.

Having searched for 'Li-Po' battery charger modules I came up blank, only found external battery chargers.

Thing is, there's lipo and then there's lipo.

The first type is a lithium cell that uses a polymer electrolyte - you haven't got one of those. They cost more to manufacture and other things I won't go into here/yet.

The second type is a lithium ion cell in a polymer casing instead of a stiff plastic or metal can.

You have the second type.

You have the marketing wank type ;)

So, you want a standard li-ion charger for it.
