I am new to this vaping lark and picked up my first 'proper' kit a few weeks ago (uwell crown iv) .

So far i have been mainly vaping fairly subtle flavours like custards and big mamas milk but was initially very impressed with them. Now however I am just not feeling it, even with new (mesh) coils. I cant taste the hint of strawberry that i was getting from the milk.

Is this vapers tongue? I tried some menthol stuff and i could certainly taste that but I am not keen.

It could be Vapers tongue. You say subtle flavours but id say custards are definitely not subtle. This kind of juice is highly favoured and some can just kill your tastebuds after a while. Theres an Element Creme juice that I love the flavour of but after a short while it just tastes watery and it kills coils.

Id recommend trying a new flavour profile such as a fruit or plain menthol and give your buds a rest. Check out some of the Juice recommendations on @MrDJ 's list.

I'd agree. Rotation is a must. Sticking to one flavour is one of the easiest ways to get VT.

Changing coils from I guess kanthal to mesh could also change the flavour.
I've been vaping custards for 3 years in the crown 1 but have just started using the crown 2/SE1 and the flavour is different.
With mesh I've only used fruits so far and the flavour has blown me away how much difference they make. Dinner lady tuck shop and quote a few shortfills from drip drop vapour is all that's gone through my two freemax mesh pro tanks and the flavour is on another level compared to all my other tanks I've used in the past. But it's easy for me to say rotation as I do have a choice of 47 tanks and 23 of them always have a different flavour in each.

I am surprised to hear that custards are considered to be strong flavours with all the other stuff that is available!

I will finish my current tank and put a 'refurbished' coil (soaked overnight in water and then rinsed through) and try something citrussy.

Oh, and MR DJ, 47 tanks?? My word :)

Soaked overnight in water?????
Coils don't like being washed in water unless you follow some of the tutorial posts on you tube but it's still Hit and miss if it will revive the coil.

Oh and I know. I said that to myself when I got to 10 tanks lol

I mentioned the washing in water thing to see if someone had some 'guidance' and yes i did see people on you tube saying that it worked, but didn't revive them completely. Even after soaking and rinsing i can still smell the juice on them . I think i need to start looking into a more economical coil/tank system.

Any pointers in that department for a good set up for a man on a budget? I don't want to get involved in dripping i don't think.

ETA: BTW the coil i was using before i posted today was brand new.

ETA a bit more: looking on ebay i see this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VANDY-VA...640a1abb2:m:mDHDkLnGEsImv6ikNQ4ERmA:rk:8:pf:0

It seems to be cheap and everything is included to get me started and can hold a decent amount of juice.. I would like to get the opinion of people who know what they are talking about though.

Not used that tank but i do have the vandy vapes revlover RTA, works ok and good for the £5 i paid fo rit on sale.

If you looking for value for money but good flavour than an RTA or RDA is certainly the way to go.

menthol and heisenburg are the two flavours that will linger for weeks if not months. these really need their ouw coil or tank just for those flavours.

your above link on ebay is a RTA so you have to build the coils and not my bag so cant help with them.

heres my list which was mentioned above POTV Vendors & Recommended E Liquid Suppliers

Thanks a lot, I will try and do a little research, I don't want to make my own coils but from what i can see buying the coils to put in the RDA tanks , they are practically free so i think that is the way i want to be going.

If you're buying from rejuiced expect those juices to get better with longer periods of steeping, some of the 10ml juices i've had from them have taken 2 months to consistently give flavour, not had that problem with any of the shortfills(1-2 weeks is enough), but all the 10ml juices always start nice then take a nose dive in flavour pretty quickly, but they all dramatically improved after a couple months of sitting on the shelf (despite the stated pre-steeping).
