What's new

Loss of flavour, but with new coil-vapers tongue?

V1 kylin? You would probably have preferred a V2 or Mini, the v1 is a royal pain in the ass to build or dismantle/use, nice vape though.

Well, it is on it's way so i guess i will have a play with it and see how i get on, how hard can it be..:)

It's not about being hard, it's incovenient/fiddly (a bit of a ball ache - you'll get it once you start using it), it's a stellar vape though(i love the vape from both the kylins).

Hope you enjoy it though, it's a lovely vape once it's built.. :)

Houston, we have a problem!

First off, I can confirm this is not a genuine item so it is quite possible it is just a complete piece of crap, and i have done everything correctly

It arrived a couple of hours ago and i set about following the instructions from this video which was linked to on the kylin thread on here. The first thing i did was put on the larger tank and then did the coils and cotton, primed her and filled her up. I broke her in gently at 30 watts for a little bit and then up to 40 then 50 and all was working fine but then i noticed my hand was wet..

This thing leaks like a sieve. The tank doesn't actually stop turning when you tighten it onto the mod so you cant tell when it is fully tight which is different to the tank that comes with the mod, but the juice actually seem to be coming through the air holes.

I have tightened up the new glass tank as much as feels safe but the glass itself can still revolve which doesn't seem conducive to non leakage either but it doesn't look like that is where the juice is coming from..

It just seems like nothing is properly tight, and it cant be tightened any more than i have tightened it.

Any thoughts?

The revolving is the juice flow control. If you look inside the tank there should be slots at the bottom of the barrel at the bottom of the glass where you can see the wicks through them if they're fully open. That shouldn't make it leak though.

There was a whole thing about how leaky the Kylin is when they came out. I never had that issue with mine I'm afraid so don't know how to help.

There is a thread on here somewhere that shows a few different wicking tips to stop it leaking though.

Edit. Here's the thread https://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/.../kylin-rta-leaking-and-wicking-issues.138832/ post 48 has pics of Strawberryripple's wicking which helped a few folks and the vaping with vic video could be quite helpful as well.

Thanks Glitchy,

I will check it out and report back my findings!

And yeah i have figured out the juice control window but the glass can revolve quite easily without having any bearing on that 'opening and closing'. If i turn the tank by holding the top fill cap then it opens and closes the juice window but if i just hold the glass it spins just as easily but nothing else is turning. As i say though i don't think it is leaking from there, it just doesn't feel like it should do that.

Right..i found that there was no O' ring between the deck and the tank so i put on the smallest one from the spares bag as that was the only one that would still allow the tank to screw on. I tightened up the 510 screw and adjusted the cotton so a bit less was shoved into the well and then put some juice in the tank and let it sit to see if there was visible leakage. I didn't see any.

I then took a couple of hits and got a bit of a burnt/dry taste , then the mod stopped powering it and gave me an 'atomiser not found' message! When i took the tank off it was apparent that there is still leakage. I am not sure i have the patience to continue with this as i also know this thing is a fake. I am going to approach the seller and see what he says!

SO, i guess i need to find something along the same lines as this tank, that works out of the box..
