Well the BBC are essentially Camerons publishing company.. Besides the fact they spent 5m of our money to cover for scumbag peados within their ranks though is a whole other story, dicks.
Oxygen equipment though? Could of happened just as easily if he turned his gas cooker on, or lit a cig, or anything.
If regulation comes into force, they should be regulating battery safety and proper equipment supplied to charge a battery that isn't cross compatible to further dilute our gene pool with health and safety madness.. Yet there's no money making involved in that so they won't be interested.
More likely to be a cheapy ecig that's the problem, my first eGo bought from that N.London firm only came with a small USB connector, no wall wart, so I use my own double USB adaptor (2A or 2*1A) that I use for all my USB things that need charging, never had any problems, as the connector will only draw 500mA from the Adaptor and put out the required 420mA to the eGo, but I would never leave it unattended.
Use decent equipment get decent results - don't scrimp on batteries of any kind treat them right and you shouldn't have any problems
